38/357 are making a comeback? I see less and less of it around here.
I’m telling you! when .45 ACP is a gateway to .357! wonder what next!@Mark_Mark just discovered them. Let him have his moment
All the Cool Range Kids are talking about it! Everyone is completely bored of 9mm (So Boring)38/357 are making a comeback? I see less and less of it around here.
A .357 (Smith Model 19) was my first large bore handgun - almost 50 years ago. Does that mean I get to sit at the "cool bench" at the range? Or does it just mean I'm old?All the Cool Range Kids are talking about it! Everyone is completely bored of 9mm (So Boring)
That sounds fabulous. My "range" is either the back pasture and rear deck, or the county gravel pit about 2 miles south of the house. And I sit anywhere I want at those two places.
ooooh heck no! one thing reloaders won’t do is overpay for ammo. It's a reloaders caliber because there is zero chance I'm paying 1 dollar per.
You are as old as you feel! like member said up top. My dream is to have coffee and bacon and pop off a few off my deck! now if you can shoot and fish off your deck!!!! oooh yeahA .357 (Smith Model 19) was my first large bore handgun - almost 50 years ago. Just kidding. My "range" is either the back pasture and rear deck, or the county gravel pit about 2 miles south of the house. And I sit anywhere I want at those two places.
I’m working on getting my 1st .357 revolver. It’s probably going to be a Ruger VaqueroGuess I am waaaay ahead of this trend. I have always owned way more 357 firearms than any 9MM ones. Conversly I have 5X more 9MM brass as well. l like being able to manage my brass retreival better, use 38 SPL brass/loads in 357 brass, and generally shoot better low power loads with them. What's not to like here.
they got 1 for $750 at my reloading cave store. This place is cool… old, dusty, full of everything reloading, and the staff don’t ever think the customer is right!Got a Vaquero and 4 Blackhawks in 357 myself! They will wear you out before you shoot them loose too.
until the young guys shoot a 357 at a watermelon. 9mm is the new ladies purse gun!Wait, The 9mm is every bit as capable and powerful as the 357 max….. Ha ha fellas
Just stating a bit of what I’ve read from some of the younger guys.
Guess they never lit off a Real hot 125jhp Or 200 hard cast with old Lyman reloading manuals.
I stick with modern books tho.
Long live the 357 Mag
357 EZ… sign me UP!Yeah, ... No. When you start seeing micro-357's or EZ-357's like you see micro 9's micro 380's EZ 9's or EZ 380's then maybe.
The best chance for this was the .357 Sig (which is an awesome cartridge at full power and can also be loaded to lighter .40 S&W power)
But as long as it sticks to revolver only or in very heavy and unwieldy semis like the Desert Eagles, it's being outpaced by 9mm and .380 platforms. The Coonan was interesting and seemed worthy. Otherwise the Sig p226 and p229 in .357 Sig were the true standard bearers.
A 357 revolver is much cooler than a Glock Sock 9mm. When the range cool guy wants a smile and cheer, he pulls out the .357 Colt Python and do some Walking Dead movie quotes!I'm thinking differently. 9mm is so popular today mainly because of so many newer shooters and reloaders can get cheaper guns and 9mm ammo is way cheaper than 357 and easier to find. Perhaps some are just now discovering the 357 and it's new to them and a very powerful, easy to reload caliber, but for many decades it was more popular than 9mm. I started shooting 357 Magnum in about 1980 and held off getting a 9mm pistol (revolver kinda guy!) until about 2000...
Lol! stop being a hater bro!The last thing I want to see is hipsters shooting 357s. They ruined the good bourbon supply. They are ruining the good scotch and cigar supply. They are ruining the plaid shirt industry. Nothing good can come of this.
I have so many tupperwear guns, they all shoot the same and are extra boring. My most carried gun is a CZ P07 in boring 9mm. That’s because I don’t have the skills!Oh 9mms have a place. Most magazine (Clips) capacity for new shooters that want a high cap for Nokatomi high rise shooting defense. It dosnt kick much and then They get slide bit, can’t hit a barn door at 10’…They put it in the sock drawer And await the zombie apocalypse.
After that they go shooting with Uncle Bob who Fires of a cylinder of Hot reload 125s and clears the range each direction…. While drilling the bullseye- With a smile the Umcle says “ Whanta Shoot a Real Gun Kid”? As that person Looks at the fine quality craftsmanship of a Excellent all metal Revolver compared to the Tupperware plastic crap……
The Angels Rejoice in Song as the Echos Of Skeeter and Elmer Laugh in unison with sounds of 44s going off in the background.
That’s how I picture it.
