Is Larry Potterfield amazing or what?

In a recent issue of the "Bugle", the magazine published by the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, there was an article on Larry and his wife.

Like Henry they do a LOT of stuff with youth shooting, the NRA and other activities.

They are starting a new program to get youth interested in hunting. They have also donated a bunch of money to the RMEF.

They started their give your change to the NRA program, and many sites followed with similar ideas.

Reading the article, he and his wife are a class act, and they do run a class business. Also turns out she loves hunting sa much as he does.

Midway may not be the cheapest, but if the prices are close, I'll buy from them because of all the other things they do.

Must be those BS "Special Handling" charges that fund his generosity??

I buy from Midway pretty often. Orders arrive extremely fast from them, about the only one quicker is Missouri Bullets.

Shipping and handling charges just seem to be a part of life anymore, hard to avoid them.

Look at what goes on when using Ebay.

He reminds me of the kid that got picked on at school and turned his life into something other than thinking how badd azz he was at football. Love to see things like that in life. I bet all the jocks that are managers at the local dive bar are surely kicking themselves in the ass for not being his friend.

And that is the way it is!

Midway USA is 6 Sigma qualified and has been for some time, they know what they are doing down there.:)
Best,
Rob

I like to spread my business around a bit. I will spend some cash at the other companies mentioned as I want them to remain in business also. I do spend some $$ there around once a month and I think that the prices are fair due to the fact that they have what I want in stock most times. Others have better prices sometimes but that is no good if they don't have it in stock. I think that little extra cost is so that they can afford the overhead to actually have the product in stock when you need it.:D

I love Midway USA. Their customer service is second to none. I buy with 100% confidence from Midway.

I have bought from him for over 25 years but because of the economy I can no longer afford his SHIPPING AND HANDELING.

I'm sure Larry is not the only one, possibly not the one at all deciding on pricing and shipping charges. There never is a single person responsible for all that in a big company.

Not sure why displeasure with shipping charges at Midway would lead to displeasure with Larry himself....

You own/run the company, you are ultimately repsonsible-

Because of the economy (especially rising fuel costs) no one can afford to ship for what they used to. Shipping = transportation and transportation costs are strongly affected by fuel costs.

CDNN usually ships for 9 bucks, and regularly runs sales for shipping for 6 bucks.

If Larry wants me to pay $25 shipping for a $45 part that weighs a pound, he can splash on a little cold blue.

Larry Potterfield is the coolest man in America after Hank Hill.

You and I must know two very different Hank Hills.

I mean, he isn't making videos about 1892's and 1886 winchesters and stuff for any profit - they are simply educational. Whenever I search youtube...which is often, I always play Larry's video's first, watch the others, and then tend to come back and watch his again.

Educational? Please enlighten me as to one useful fact revealed about one of the guns on Personal Defense TV.

I'm a bit irritated with Larry after a promo code didn't work online. It got figured out though - eventually.

But I like him, and I generally like his business. He seems like he would be a great guy to go shoot with, and then drink a beer with.

I do like Grafs shipping much better though!

I would suggest the People here singing Mr. Potterfield's praises may wish to speak with some of his former employees. There are a great number of them around. It is amazing how many people start at midway, work there a year or two and quit when they find other jobs. As an example the company actually times how long employes spend in the bathroom and counts the number of times you use it. Being 7 months pregnant was not considered a sufficient excuse for an excessive number of trips to the bathroom. The company atmosphere is controling repressive and invasive.

Larry Potterfield may not remember me at all, but I hunted quail with him many years ago and shot handguns with him on a mutual friend's property during the same period. This was during his early years in the business. He was a very pleasant, easy to get along with guy.

I buy from Midway a great deal. Shipping often costs me nothing because I can pick up the products at Midway's warehouse when in Columbia on other business.

The content of Personal Defense TV doesn't give me a whole lot of confidence in that information.

well no one says its blind truth.....same with anything you read online....watch the videos, if what you see makes sense to you, give it a try......if not, well youve lost nothing but some spare time.

ive watched through a number of his videos, and i didnt see anything that jumped out to me as blatantly wrong or dangerous....heck, some of it has turned out to be pretty darn helpful.......but as always, with free information you get what you pay for it.

You talking Personal Defense TV or Best Defense TV?

Don't know how either relates to Midway, but I haven't seen a lot of 'em.
I thought Personal Defense TV was good-at least until Tom Gresham left as host. Don't know how much him being host had to do with the content-maybe they just ran of things to cover? Couldn't get it on our cable network-I ended up buying 'bout the first 4 seasons on DVD.

I recently found Best Defense TV on our local cable network-haven't seen but a few-ehhhh-maybe a little heavy on the survival skills and light on the firearms segments? 'Course, they may be right up some folks' alley?
