Is the Obama gun buying spree over?

ARs got wiped out for the first couple months around me, but have since come back, albeit in still lower numbers than a full shelf. Wolf is hard to find, but ____-bear and most .223 and other things are in decent numbers. It seems to be tapering off here for now, and of course all the "yea he may ban this so it's a good idea to buy it if you can and really want it" counter talk is still going strong.

At the Miami Gun show this weekend. There were plenty of AR's, FAL's and CETME's with decent prices. AK's and SKS's seemed to be astronomical. $600 + for a WASR, $1000 + for an Arsenal. One guy had sold 6 home converted Saiga's for $750 in the first 2 hours. Saiga-12's seemed to be reasonable $450 ish, I couldn't find one for less than $1,000 when I went to the same Gun Show in the summer.

Not here its not. I stopped by one of the local shops Sat. and there were no parking spots, and in fact they had several parked on the street. Went inside and listened and watch for maybe a half hour. I can tell you that there are at least 3 more 1st time gun owners in our town as of Saturday. My buddy who runs it said that they cannot get ARs in fast enough to keep up. He had only 2 on the shelf and both were spoke for. (High ends ones at that).

Stopped by a local shop today in Oregon. They had 2 Saiga-12's w/12-round mags, Cetmes, 3 ARs, etc. Lots of new stuff, at reasonable prices. Also a number of Buckmarks that have been in short supply here for over 6 months. More ARs coming in shortly. What are still in short supply are Ruger LCPs...

It appears that the delivery issues are easing, at least locally.

It is still on, but has slowed some. I just hope that the number of new gun owners continues to grow. We need their votes. Most, but not all dealers are taking advantage of the surge in demand. Supply and demand is what sets the prices in any market. Go to a car lot. If they have 20 of one model on the lot, you can get a break in price. If they only have one due to demand, you get no price break.

I hope it's not over. sorry if it's an inconvenience for you gun gurus out there, but I happen to be a panic buyer. I felt I had been long neglecting the level of security for my family and the mentality of our outgoing CIC coupled with the track record of our new one coming in rectified that.

Not only do I feel safer but absolutely LOVE our new purchases. Having a GREAT time at the range and feel like an addiction is kicking in.

+1 on the more guns out there the better. Hopefully the "new guy" has more on his plate than worrying about "reasonable gun laws" :barf: I've bought three in the past two months and am eyeballing another four. (Trying to learn what I got first though).

Hang in there "old timers". It can't go on forever. Let us new guys in the door, that we can learn from your fine examples. :D

Houston Reliant gun show was InSaNe.. Never been so crowded. That being said there were a lot of great deals. Think the sellers had an overstock of handguns cause your could really work 'em

Bought an XD 45 compact (new in box w/ all the goodies) for $440.00

Agreed Davion. Lots of people there and many buying weapons of one type or another. What I really like is the number of women buying weapons for themselves. More than I can remember in past years.

A buddy of mine and I both bought Bushmaster patrol m4a3's for 1,120.00 plus tax. Not a bad price. There were lots of overpriced weapons there but there were also some really good deals.

I picked up 4 really good FAL mags with leather pouches for 20.00. Also picked up some stuff for my HK and Cetme at really good prices.

Then there was the guy... that was selling Cetme/HK alloy mags for 25.00. I just bought 50 of them in a group buy for 2.00 each.
