Is there a holographic sight comparable to Eotech that is less expensive?

I just picked up a new Sig M400 on black friday so now I am looking for accessories without breaking the bank. My other AR is set up for long range so I am looking for a multiple recticle holographic sight comparable to an Eotech but less expensive. Something to use for quick engagement within 50 yards.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

Yes.

Check Midwayusa.com for red dot optics. Sightron makes a holo that is about 1/3 the price of an Eotech.

You get what you pay for when it comes to optics. Aimpoint and Eotech are great stuff. If you want to save money, i would go with a Vortex Sparc or Strikefire. Even cheaper yet is the Primary Arms stuff. PA is a good company.

lol, here comes the Aimpoint vs Eotech battle. Both are great optics and both have advantages. This argument can't be won.

That's a good one....

Aimpoint pro better than eotech ha

I was just recently reading a similar thread on another forum I hang out on,the OP was talking about a malfunctioning Eotech, and numerous members there were also saying that the Aimpoints worked as well and held up better than the Eotechs.

Many were slain in the EoTech-Aimpoint Wars.

Of course, many of those using EoTechs were slain when their batteries crapped out or their sights broke...

Not warring. Just providing my personal experience. What is yours, 3twelves?

The Aimpoints hold up better, and the vastly better battery life can mean the difference between having a functioning sight that is always ready to go (since you never have to turn it off), or a dead weight on top of your rifle.

Occasionally used ones turn up for good prices. Personally, i'd go with an Aimpoint if buying used as they are certainly more durable. Not trying to have an aimpoint vs eotech debate but that is the case.

Recently my eyesight and astigmatism have gotten progressively worse. The reticle of the eotech has become "fuzzy", but I still like it. I would not try to settle for a cheaper holographic sight, because there are not many true holographic sights out there.

If you want a red dot sight, then an Aimpoint is the way to go. But they are not infallible. I saw one fail at a 3-gun match recently (shocker, I know).

Thanks for the feedback. After more research I decided to go ahead and spend the extra money for the eotech. I wanted the biohazard recticle/zombie model but I think its overpriced. Im gonna do some looking online and see where I can get the 512 model the cheapest. If anyone knows where to get a good deal on one let me know.

Thanks guys.

L3 EOTECH has MAP (minimum advertised pricing). You may find some with a coupon or free shipping. They should sell for around $415.00.

Beware of can't pass up deals because the items may not be in stock!
Our eotech representative mentioned any orders placed now would ship in February!!!

Really? Nobody told Amazon- Eotech 399.99 with free 2 day shipping if you are a Prime member, 3.99 more for overnight.

BTW the Aimpoints on sale at PSA were sold out 15 minutes after I got the email.....I really like my Eotech but was gonna pick up an Aimpoint also, but too late.

You get what you pay for here.

I'd rather an Aimpoint than any of the others, and I'd rather an EOtech than anything but Aimpoint.

Battery life alone is reason enough for me to buy an Aimpoint over an EOtech every time, not to mention the seemingly increased durability of the Aimpoints.

If you want an EOtech, buy an EOtech. Don't cheap out.

This is one of the better prices I've seen for the 512. You have to add it to the cart to see the price, but it comes to $390 and some change. And this site has free shipping on orders over $99. So that $390 is your complete price. Hope this helps.

If you want something like an EoTech, just pick up the EoTech... You can pick up an XPS2-RF for $375 or less.

I tried to like the Aimpoint Pro, but I'm sticking with EoTech. The Aimpoint's field of view was way too confining for me, and I like the 1MOA EoTech reticle much, much better than the 2 MOA Aimpoint dot.

The aforementioned PSA had EoTechs on sale as well, but looks like all their stock sold out. Or at least what they allocated for the sale, that is. (I personally can't recommend PSA, having had two of three transactions totally messed up .. shipped wrong items, was very difficult to get through to them).

If you are going to skimp might as well get the less desirable/inferior Aimpoint pro. The XPS models are a lot better than the old cheaper eotechs.

source: Have 2 XPS one QD one reg.

To Wojo: XPS2-RF (RF=Rim Fire)
