not legal for small game in pa i have an email from the pa game commission. cap and ball revolvers are considered centerfire revolvers not muzzleloaders

So, I first miss-read you to be saying that groundhogs are big game in PA.
and had a laugh, but so you are actually saying that Coyotes and groundhogs are not considered small game in PA? or PA just has some special rule for hunting them?

Great collection Zimmer!!!! So I finally found out who it was in Pennsylvania that was out bidding me on all those old percussion tins that were up for auction.


Blue, yes, you are correct. in PA there's small game and varmints (groundhogs and coyotes and others). Varmints can be hunted all year around, when applicable coyotes for example and some restrictions do apply, and there is differing orange and firearm requirements.

The Words "Center Fire" on the cap tin was only to distingish this type of cap from the "RimFire" type cap. It had nothing to do with the gun they were used on.

There are centerfire. Fire goes through a hole in the center of the nipple.
