Is this the best reloading forum?

Think so. Best I have found. You gotta love all the personalities combined with the experience and knowledge makes for a great place to hang out and learn and exchange info.

Best reloading forum I found on the 'Net..it's the whole reason I settled here at THR. The moderation is awesome in this area of THR as well as the heavy hitting posters and support.

I have learned more here than on any other gun board.

VooDoo

Here's the deal…we have something here that I don't think anyone else has. I don't think it exists anywhere else on the internet. I think it IS the internet…it's called RCMODEL. I suspect it's an IBM super computer into which all known reloading and firearms knowledge has been programmed but I can't confirm it.

I just know that it knows everything. So…unless someone else also has RCMODEL, then yes…this is the best reloading site.

I've learned a lot here.
+1 and LOL!

As for the site, RC, Reloadron,Walkalong and a couple others got me up and running pretty good and Im about as thick headed as they come so I think it's pretty dawggone good.

But they're probably about ready to retire from mentoring after dealing with me though!

Yea Walkalong runs a tight ship. I have flashbacks of the principals office when I get us off topic or something and get a note in my inbox:)

I say hands down the best. Various skill levels so a newbie doesn't feel discomfort when asking a question. The people are constructive in their opinions and advice. In addition it's the "Consumer Report" of reloading equipment. The products are being reviewed by actual users! How cool is that! Granted some folks are a little opinionated but it comes with the territory. I always chuckle when they start out with I have been reloading for 100 years or I have loaded 10.5 million rounds :neener: enjoy the forum!

The Brian enos forum has some very good information on USPSA and 3 gun competition calibers. But for a general reloading site, this is pretty good.

Is this the best reloading forum?
I lurked on THR for years before I joined and learned A LOT from reading the countless threads. There is a tremendous amount of knowledge base here and I found I was doing a lot of things improperly and/or inefficiently. Heck, I learn something new almost on a regular basis even now and very happy to be a lifelong student of reloading on a forum like this.

I spent time on several different gun forums before but now I spend most of my time here. Why? I think the "High Road" essence of members and mostly "hands off/speak your mind" approach moderators/admins/staff take really set THR apart from other forums (no chest thumping needed here or the need to have a particular brand of equipment to be accepted as all are welcome).

THR is a great "gateway" gun forum, especially for a new shooter/reloader because of the non-brand specific "general" approach to shooting/reloading and almost all the reloading related problems/questions are quickly and often precisely answered by personal experiences of many (and not by brand preference like, "Solution to your problem is a brand X gun or equipment":D). I rarely see a problem go unresolved here. You will often see the same person post same questions on multiple forums and comparing the responses (if they get one at all or timely) will give you a good idea to the value of THR. I mean, what good is an answer to a reloading question several days/weeks later and especially if the answer is not related to the equipment being used by the OP? The OP having the reloading problem needs help now not later.

The particular core of THR handloading and reloading section based on safe reloading practices is well suited for new reloaders as THR discourages unsafe/overpressure loads and members readily place disclaimers when non-published/overpressure loads are posted.

I guess you can say THR is a "safe" playground for newbies to reloading and participated by mostly responsible members looking out for their interests.

I think if PBS did a documentary of reloading culture and community, THR would make a fine example of "High Road" reloaders helping each other on a global network 24/7. On what forum or crazy universe would you find a thread like "Pay it Forward" where total strangers who never met help each other by shipping reloading components/equipment and pay the shipping too! I think that is an awesome display of true "High Road" core of this forum that you won't find anywhere else.

I'm definitely more of a lurker but I read this forum to death when I first started reloading. Good commentary and members make this forum great. Great knowledge on this forum especially for beginners. Snipershide and long range hunting also have top notch reloading forums. Snipershide has a sweet reloading depot with tons of recipes for every caliber imaginable.

As muddy dog said, this has the highest constant activity and thus the most knowledge for overall reloading. I also visit castboolits because sometimes I have a casting/reloading issues or questions. But for general reloading networking and knowledge this has the deepest knowledge. Also realize no one just visits just one forum, so you have some crossover. If a flock guy reloads chances are he will be on at least both forums.

Best for me. Advice is based on fact, not opinion. Knowledgeable moderators and members. Great bunch of gun nuts. Have no reason to wander!

This is my favorite site - I visit several times daily.

However - I have to remark that asking that question here is like going into a bakery and asking "who has the best donuts!!"

OK, here are the numbers of various forums. If a particular forum did not make the list that's due to membership less than 15,000:

Interesting numbers bds. It seems to my naked eye that THR has more activity than most of those that have comparable member numbers

I visit 3 other reloading forums.

One is a Canadian forum. This helps me keep track of what components are in stock at various places.

The other 2 forums are firearm specific. 1911 and M14.

I prefer THR to all the other forums simply due to the lack of profanity and civility that is kept as a standard here.
