Did any of you watch that horrible debate?

Joe Biden essentially called gun owners mentally unstable. And that is also his reason for gun grabbing.

I'm more upset with youtube deciding to use that wacky guy for their question on gun control. You have to be kidding me. We all looked like freaking warmongering idiots. Unbelievable. CNN has never stooped so low!

yeah i saw it, i thought this debate was going to be new and uncontrolable with the Youtube questions. it was just like any other debate CNN screened all the questions, and anderson would pick a select canidate to awnser it

i almost gagged when joe bidden spoke up

That is my thought as well. They chose to represent gun owners as a slightly nutty. No other issue was given such treatment. It speaks wonders about CNN.

However, one must wonder whether any other Pro- Second Amendment people submitted a video.

Yea, that was a bad question video, and Biden's response was worse. But at least he pretty much admitted why it is he doesn't want lowly subjects owning guns when he said "I hope he doesn't come after me" or whatever..

He gave a terrible answer to a terrible video choice, but at least he didn't give some BS about supporting the second amendment. As long as they don't lie I don't care what any of them say.

There were better gun video choices though IMO, with a less obvious cheap shot about to follow up. The "babies" comment just leaves the door wide open.

I agree, the videos chosen for the debate were not the best. I also would not consider this a debate since everyone did not get a chance to respond. This could have been a good opportunity for some good questions and good debate but it turned into a bunch of audition tapes for reality shows.

I agree

Now we know why they chose the questions. E- mail that fat guy who the head of the choosers. I call mine my baby, just like you or me call your favorite vehicle my baby. Since Anderson Cooper is a Bilderberger, [ which invited Hillary and Rick Perry over there recently and choses our presidents] I had my doubts. The Communist News Network has labeled us as nuts. I'm thinking seriously of throwing my TV in the street. They picked the most rough looking guy in the world for that question. We all know there were other gun owners who sent in their Questions. So Joe Biden started the AWB ban huh? Well, We ought to deluge his office with e-mails. I thought the guy on the far left was the best. NRA, GOA, JPFO, now is the time to act! I'm fuming, going to reload some rounds.:cuss::banghead::fire::mad::(:uhoh::eek: RON PAUL people!

What Biden would say was predictable.
Some years ago, I realized that certain individuals were going to say things that would greatly anger me. I learned that my best course was to turn them off. When Jessie comes on I just turn the channel, and the same for essentially all the Dems.

I know what the libs are going to say, and I just ignore them and vote and do what I reasonable can to get them out of power. I confess I have not done well at that lately, but I try within the law with votes.

Best,
Jerry

I held my shotgun during the whole debate in contempt. And made some incoherent mumblings about taking my guns.

Seriously though, how can they talk about freedoms and human and gay rights and then blatantly call all gun owners whacko's and pretend there is no RKBA

I agree. Very bad choice. What we needed was a nice looking woman like the one in Oleg's last post to make a compelling video.

I would produce a video that would say;

"To all of the candidates, I am a single woman and the law of the land under Warren vs. District of Columbia basically says that Law Enforcement has NO obligation to protect any one citizen, If I choose to protect myself with a gun would you support my right under the 2nd amandment?" 15 seconds

Weren't over 2000 questions submitted for this debate?

And that was the BEST gun control question CNN could choose?

Give me a freaing break. Shame on CNN.

That is like saying I hunt, what will you do to protect my right to hunt with a rifle. The 2nd amendment is about we the people protecting ourselves from those filthy politicians running for office. Everything else gun related is second to that.

I checked 2nd from bottom and it wasn't the video. Do you have a direct link.

There are 39 videos on that page. They are all in order and it is the second from the bottom. Number 38. They changed the name from "Gun Control" to "Are our babies safe?"

That wasn't the best gun video, but it wasn't exactly horrible. Why don't we just bombard the Democrats with questions? Get the issue out in the open.

How can you bombard them with questions? I know, You Tube! It's the internet so they can't possibly screen or choose what to answer because the internet isn't regulated. Oh wait...

Bottom line is they will ignore good questions, and continiue to label gun owners as criminals crazies etc. CNN praised the fact that ordinary people can ask questions, but the bottom line is the only way they will be forced to answer is if you can somehow run up to them on tv, and make them answer without being stopped halfway or getting shot.

Another television blunder...

That was a drastic blunder on CNN's part, selecting the video of the guy with the AR. Not that there was/is anything essentially wrong, as we know, with a guy sporting an AR, but it was drastically stupid to use THAT image to typify the many responsible gun owners/users in this country. It's simply not the imagery that America is programmed to swallow. For now we need to meet the populace halfway when it comes to visual imagery. It would've been wayyyyy wiser for the outcome to use some average person (who also happens to own guns) as the sampling for this issue and these questions.

The whole deal was poorly handled, poorly presented and poorly reacted to, essentially.
:barf:

Outlaws,

I wrote that line because how could you argue with the fact that it's true and you even admit,
The 2nd amendment is about we the people protecting ourselves
, so what's the issue? I spoke to the lack of LEO/Government ability to protect and the right to protect yourself? Where did hunting enter the question? I also back it up with teh 2nd amendment & the legal precident?

The Video and the Response

CNN picked that one because it was the most show biz. The key to all the videos selected was emotinal impact - not rational thought. If the question made sense, it was secondary.

The big difference was who was formulating the questions. It was not the media, but the producers at CNN still looked at entertainment aspect first.
