Joe Biden is terrible!

Joe Bidden has been terrible for several decades now. He was one of the primary pushers of the 1994 Semi-Automatic Assault Weapon Ban. It took him about 6 years of pushing (from 1988) to get it passed, so he is a devoted anti-gunner.

Did any of you watch that horrible debate?

Joe Biden essentially called gun owners mentally unstable. And that is also his reason for gun grabbing.

I think Biden plagarized that line from someone else's work. I don't think he's capable of original thought.;)

Long eyes wrote-

When you dandle your AR-15 on your knee and call it your "baby" you might be giving a lot of Americans a "weird vibe."

Yep, you just might. And middle of the road "I think the second amendment is ok, but those evil black rifles and guys who talk like that make me nervous" middle class, suburban VOTERS do not like to feel weird.

Fabulous responded-

It's really no different than someone calling their lovingly restored 1967 Camero their "baby", or their boat, or a favorite fishing fly. When people put a lot of time and effort into a hobby, it is natural for them to develop a certain affection. The challenge that lies ahead of us is convincing the rest of America that there is no difference between gun nuts, gear heads, yachtsmen, or fisherman.

On the straight up facts I absolutely agree. Problem is, this is a political issue, and the debate is rarely about facts, but rather feelings. Most people eat, sleep, buy, sell, and vote with their feelings. To pretend otherwise is foolish. If the gun control debate was soley fact-based, it would have been "game over" decades ago! In reality, Camaros and fishing rods are not nearly as polarizing as guns. The rest of America won't be convinced by yahoos like the boob on on youtube last night.

Yeah that guy was a terrible representative. Whoever picked that video knew there was an opportunity for comic relief.

Biden made a wise-crack that the audience laughed at, and the youtube idiot set it up perfectly for him. "Well if that's his baby.." - too bad they couldn't have picked someone who at least had the appearance of being more socially acceptable, and had a well-worded, thought-provoking question. Biden was probably thrilled he had an "easy" question, because most of the audience had already dismissed him before Biden even said a word.

Sorry folks but that "wacky guy" represents a large population of the gun culture.

You ever view the post/pics of people here at the range, or gatherings?
Not at my range...

SHTF, what gun to use on zombies, tin foil hat, etc threads?

If that guy was a wacko, then 95% of the posters here need a straight jacket.
I think most posters here could tell the difference between shooting the breeze about zombie movies and asking a serious question of a presidential candidate, and frame the question accordingly.

Irony

One of the subtle points of the video that is missed is that he says the gun is AWB compliant. The stock could be fixed. I didn't see a flash hider or a bayonet lug. The 30 round mag might be the only thing that would not fit in the '94 ban.

That rifle is not a "assault weapon" under the law that Biden wrote.

The bottom line is the videos CNN chose had to seem quirky and unprofessional and there are plenty of hams out there willing to do this. Did anyone think CNN would put up complicated tough questions that are better than the ones CNN personalities come up with? No, this was like watching a political gong show. Heck, there was a snowman sock puppet asking a question.

CNN played it great, they wanted the audience to think “questions from the people are stupid and you should trust our moderators to ask the questions because they are professional.” I am sure the pro-climate change crowed loved being represented by a puppet snowman. :scrutiny: It is no surprise that they air a video that confirms the liberal view of a “gun nut” complete with a tricked out AR that he calls his baby. I understand his attempted play on words for the do it for the children crowd, but it came off as being a smartdonkey. He created Brady gold. I can see the billboard now, a picture of the guy in the video holding his rifle with a quote “I love my baby more than my children.” Oh well. No surprise from Biden, he played it to the hilt and got the appaluse he wanted. Maybe even a small bump in the polls.

Instead look at it this way, Biden can not be president now, With that single statement, he sealed his doom on the presidential trail. I say hurray.

For everyone here who's complaining about how bad the video question was, why aren't you posting links to the well-lit, professionally produced, and well-rehearsed video question that you uploaded to YouTube for the debate?

I'm more upset with youtube deciding to use that wacky guy for their question on gun control. You have to be kidding me. We all looked like freaking warmongering idiots. Unbelievable. CNN has never stooped so low!

I don't understand this.
The guy was decently respectful and engaging.
He could have been any one of us.

The fact that Mr. Biden doesn't know how to react to someone excersing a RIGHT under the constitution should make you angry. The fact that he's real; and not a polished spokesperson shouldn't.

Remember, having a rifle is a RIGHT, not a privilege just to those with nice clothes and a nice accent.

I always think of him as an elder statesman, so with that he is not in the correct age group to be President.

He will never be voted in for the Democratic nominee, it just won't happen.

It is pretty much a non brainer who is going to get the nod. Many more women are going to go to the polls this time,:uhoh: I'd venture to say.;)

My thoughts exactly....

I actually did post a video but took it down immediately after seeing it wasn't aired. (I'm not a big fan of having my name and addy posted on a video online indefinitely)

Here's what my question was....
"Recently, Senator Obama called for a permanent assault weapons ban. In my opinion this law restricts law abiding gun owners and does nothing for crime. Here's my question for all the candidates. The Democratic party is continually being viewed as anti-gun. How do you expect to appeal to millions of law abiding gun owners like myself, and why should we vote for you?"

I guess I wasn't funny enough?

He was cuddling his rifle, and calling it his "baby." That is not the image that gun rights advocates need. The amazing thing is, CNN didn't do that to any other political topic. Speaks wonders about CNN's agenda.

Yeah, because, like, that talking snowman was totally the height of serious political discourse.

I have a little different perspective on this. First of all, the only way Joe Biden will ever see the inside of the white house is if he takes the public tour and he knows this. What people need to look at here is why cronic loosers like Biden , Jackson Sharpton keep running for something they will never getand that is that it allows them to go national on their fund raising which can be used in there home state re election bids. After the hit peice about the evil black rifles and the women who shoot them on NBC last week I'm not at all shocked with CNN'S choice of the u-tube video , I mean it is the Clinton News Network. They are not our friends and so email or call or both the DNC and remind them that we don't neccessarryly speak out but we do vote and we do have a long memory.

Yeah, because, like, that talking snowman was totally the height of serious political discourse.

However, many people have a genuine concern over Global Warming. To people on the fence about gun issues, having a guy come on and call his rifle his "baby, could give them a negative connotation about gun owner's.

Well, the guy displayed poor judgement by appearing like that for a Presidential debate basically caressing his "baby". One might get the notion that he had a survival bunker well stocked and ready for the end. You know what I mean?
If only gunowners were all country gentlemen.

Biden did show his true colors there with that crack that he made. Tsk tsk.

I was actually slightly impressed with the audience response to Biden's slight against the questioner. The audience was silent, no applause, and Biden kind of rambled incoherently during some audience rumblings....This makes me think there's some hope.

Was this anyone else's perception as well?

Sorry, that's where you're wrong. The Second Amendment is not about a hobby that just happens to be firearms. Guns are NOT boats, model trains, or stamp collections. We know it, and "they" know it. You can't remove the psychic and political energy from firearms. We see our guns as guarantors of our liberty. That's big medicine, kemosabe. They defend us from low-life thugs and political tyrants. We need to deal with the gun issue with the high seriousness it deserves; the preservation of firearms rights is one of the huge issues of history and civilization.

I hate to say it but I have met more than a few gun owners who remind me of guy in the video. Ever been to a gun show? The stereotype of gun owners is not too far from the truth. I am not saying all gun owners easily fit the stereotype but there are enough out there that do. And those are the ones the media show on the nightly news and not the single mom with the .357 Mag at her beside to protect her children. That is just the way it is with the media.

Honestly now...

Did it really surprise you?

For everyone here who's complaining about how bad the video question was, why aren't you posting links to the well-lit, professionally produced, and well-rehearsed video question that you uploaded to YouTube for the debate?

Because I have better things to do than post a silly video question to a bunch of socialists all preening like peacocks and coming up with ways to give away my money.

Like playing Disk Golf...
or picking my toenails....
or sleeping...
or watching paint dry....
washing the dog...
poking a pencil in my ear...
pretty much anything is better than watching the Demo horde.

Joe Biden is my Senator he is the worst.

Joe Biden and his son Beau are gun owners avid trap shooters and Duck Hunters, so is he nuts as well?
