I just bought a Mosin-Nagant M44 at Big 5, on sale for $79.99. Normal price was $179.99. It's in pretty good shape, still got some cosmoline on it. I get to pick it up August 31st, after the California 10 day wait.

The carbines seem - for now at least - to be quite plentiful. Last year I picked up a re-arsenalled M38 for about $60 - very pleasing aquisition!

Samco Has them (M44's) for 49.95

Mine's in great shape. About 10.00 for shipping. Then 10.00 for the FFL transfer. A 70.00 rifle. Not too bad.

I'm just waiting for the M38 to go on sale. I've seen the 44 and the 59 on sale all the time at big5, but rarely see the 38...you can't pass up those bi5 sales...have fun...
