Where are all the Glocksters and oh right where are the CZ guys who so vocally rejected any poll without it:)

Just Jim: I agree with you that the history behind guns are important. Thats why I am surprised that in some of the other polls pistols like mauser luger star llama dont score more than 5 votes.

If the gov was going to limit you, don't you suppose they would limit the type as well?

MDeViney's signature is the best answer yet:)

Mac45. I hope neither is the case. I just tried to create a scenario to see what people really like.

Almost an impossible question; I'd take a Kahr K9; all steel, common round; easily concealable but also significant enough.

The gun on my hip, in a Milt Sparks Axiom

S&W 1911 Stainless Steel 5" Bbl. it's a work in
progress, still has a trigger job & videcki trigger with
adj. trigger stop to be fitted.
.45 ACP 185 gr.through 230 gr. but I have a lot of
200 gr. Hornady XTP, TC-FMJ & 200 gr. SWC and a couple
of thousand of virgin brass besides the 350 or so of various
commerical loads I have on hand. for HD/SD
w/5 WIlson COmbat SS ETM magazines,

Hunting - drop in the Jarvis .400 CorBon SS Bbl.
example: 155 gr Hornady XTP JHP @ 1,350 FPS

Gotta get the
Advantage Arms .22 LR Conversion Kit.
I have a couple of bricks of .22 LR in the vault.

#2 625 S&W .45 ACP / .45 Auto RIm cuz I shoot it
better than choice #3

S&W 686P 4" Bbl. but choosing #2 or #3 eliminates
.22 LR rats. but no way I'm giving up my 617 10 shooter.

#1 wins hands down two different readily available cartridges
and the 2nd centerfire option for more range, flatter shooting.

Glock 9mm. Easy to obtain ammo anywhere and easy to repair. Parts are cheap. Dependable and tough. Lots more cartridges in mag and faster to reload.

Glock 7! You know what that is? It's a porcelain gun made in Germany. It doesn't show up on your airport X-ray machines, and it costs more than you make here in a month!

SHDWFX: Can you please give more information on Glock 7?

I am very interested if it really is out there. By the way we in Pakistan are already paying 7 times the cost of glock anyway: Glock 26 bough few months back for 6000 USD!

@Firepower.
The Glock 7 is not real - my comment was a joke based on a movie quote.

Hypothetically speaking, if you were wanting a weapon to get past airport security, I most certainly will not be assisting you in acquiring one. :)

SHDWFX...thanks for info I was wondering about it since the metal barel issue.

However, my concern is not airport security. It is in fact the metal detectors at some resturants/hotels here. I just dont feel comfortable going in places where they disarm you since who so ever wants to sneak one in for illegal purpose will probably have his way. And the fact I do not want to trust my life with HOTEL security!

My idea of my one,do everything, end of the world handgun, with no spare parts, is the Ruger Redhawk in .44 with 4" bbl. I've been saying that for years concerning the 5 1/2" model, but the 4" would be even better.

Only one i will have to pick my dan wesson commander bobtail in 45acp
