I have a S&W 17-8. It is a K-frame .22lr with a 6in. bbl. The finish is matt blue. It has a 10 shot alloy cyl. I'm not shure if it is TI. It was only made in '96. because they dident sell. I LUV mine !! :)

I just noticed you are asking about a .38 spl. :uhoh:

Very interesting examples. Love how more experienced revolver guys are willing to show an example of two :) I can't help but wonder if they could switch the bits on the tooling for titanium cylinders and put it on a k frame cylinder machine...IDK lol

Well, since I did only post a picture of a non-Ti L-frame, here is one with...M-646

The tooling wouldn't be the problem.

The question is if enough folks would be willing to pay the extra money a Ti cylinder would cost

I have a S&W 296 44 Special with Titanium cylinder.

What happened to the grey coating that was on your cylinder from the factory? Without that coating the cylinder face will get eaten away from shooting.

It wasn't Ti, it was aluminum.

They went with the aluminum because it made it easier to machine in the 10 chambers
