I was talking with a guy from Sabre Defense, and he commented on them testing some AR-10 size/type rifles for the army. I asked him what happened to the KAC M110, and he said "they kicked it out, it failed reliability wise in the field". I have not seen this anywhere, can anyone confirm or disprove it?

Au contraire. According to military.com, the Army has just adopted the Knight as the official sniper rifle. Have never fired one but I do understand the choice is quite controversial.

Would'nt Sabre Defenence be the competition...?
Yes, but still, if they army kept the M110, i would think they wouldn't waste a lot of money making their own for the army, right?

if it failed it would have never been adopted in the first place
He was saying it failed after adoption.

Thanks for the replys guys, this is most confusing.

I think i am needing to call this guy back, and get some more specifics...now if i can just find that card of his, but i think i forgot it there.

I have hear of problems reported with the 110 in service. I have no first hand knowledge though and no info on any possible change in status.

I bet the guys on some of the more military oriented boards like lightfighter.com would have more first hand info, or at least better rumors.
