Just picked up a CM9 for my first CCW. I couldn't be happier. I have nothing to compare it to, but it's a dream to carry IWB.
Because I've learned over time that those folks who consistently complain about firearm malfunctions are also those same people who never properly lubricate and clean their firearms (i.e., they take them out of the box new and think that preservative grease is lubricant), refuse to read owners manuals, refuse to take training courses in firearm operation, use cheap ammo or Bubba's reloads, use cheap 3rd-party mags and accessories, and don't comprehend that all firearms are mechanical devices that require proper usage and maintenance to function as intended.
Since Kahrs are popular pistols, you just happen to hear more negative (and positive) chatter because of sheer volume.
Seriously, I own, and have owned, a wide variety of semi-automatic firearms over the years, and practically all of them have been 99-100% reliable, with many (including my Kahr CM9) remaining 100% reliable through thousands of rounds. This also includes other popular designs that many folks claim are "unreliable" (such as ARs, 1911s, Remington 742/7400 rifles, and 1100/11-87 shotguns), yet they always seem to work fine for me.
I'm pretty sure it's not a coincidence.
If you are a huge fan and are tired of hearing about these issues with your beloved precious, I say go find a gun that doesn't have these problems.
Kahrs are NOT that common compared to other pistols
The better comparison would be in numbers sold
Well, I've had three, and looking forward to the fourth showing up (one day soon, hopefully.)I've heard of guys on the internet with perfect Kahrs, but I'm yet to see one in real life.
