I have a Kahr CW9 that fails to feed with more then 5 rounds in the magazine. I thought it was a bad mag. I bought 2 more and they work fine with ball ammo but with hollowpoint above 5 rounds they also fail to feed.

I took the gun apart on the feed ramp there are two small horizontal notches made by the FTFs. I need to polish the feed ramp to get those slight notches out. I have a dremel. What should I use to polish it with. Someone suggested jewelers paste. Has anyone else used this for this application?

Thanks for any help.

Aluminum or steel feed ramp?

If part of the aluminum frame, some HP's may just like to take a bite out of it.

If it's steel, the bullets didn't do it.
It was machined that way.

Regardless, if you start removing enough metal with a Dremel to get rid of "small horizontal notches" you could get in deep dodo quickly, as well as void your implied warranty.

This sounds like a return trip to Kahr might be in order.

Before you do anything else, why don't you give them a call and see what they want to do for you.

RCmodel,
Thanks for the advice. I looked at Kahr's website and need to call about the warranty. I bought the gun used FTF so I believe no warranty. But I will check.

Also, the feed ramp is attached to the barrel - it is one piece. For non warranty repairs the Kahr website states Minimum repair charge is $60 + $25 shipping + return shipping $25. That's minimum $110. A new barrel is $140. So, if no warranty it is worth a shot to polish. That was my logic at least.

Again, thanks for the info. It helps to have more than one to think things through. At least my K40 work smoothly. :D So, I have that.
