The real answer is whichever fits your hand better.
Neither is particularly heavy. Both are quite slim. Neither has exceptional capacity for the size.

I personally pack a PPS in 9mm, A Kahr almost got into the safe while we were shopping for MrsBFD's CC pistol, but a Springfield XD beat it on price/capacity/grip-safety, plus it fit her hand better than anything else, including my PPS.

I voted PPS simply because I own two, the 9 and the 40. Don't have, and have never even held a Kahr to compare, but it seems I read of lots more problems with them. My son just bought a Glock 26....comparing it to the PPS I was very impressed, if you can deal with the thickness of it..costs less too.;)

I've fired both. I own two Walther PPS models, one in 9mm and one in 40 S&W. I don't own a Kahr. It's not that I have anything against the Kahr, mind you. But the Walther was a much better fit for my hand and eye.

Probably because Kahr has more of their products in the marketplace for a longer time. I don't think that Kahr has a higher percentage of lemons leaving the factory than any other major manufacturer.

Both are great carry guns.
Both are reliable.
Both are made by great companies.

But like my many others here, I think the PPS 9mm is a better choice.

I love my PM9........

With that said I have not shot the PPS. I know a buddy that has one and really loves it. However - I have been carrying my PM9 on duty and off for 5 years now. I have ZERO complaints.

But like my many others here, I think the PPS 9mm is a better choice.

Why exactly are you saying its the better choice?

i had a pps and traded (working just fine just did not work out for me)
i voted pm9 because i have a pm40 and love it (same size as a pm9)

Walther PPS

Overall Length: 6.3"
Overall Height: 4.4"
Width: 1.04"
Wgt w/o mag: 19.4 ounces

Kahr PM9
Overall Length: 5.3"
Overall Height: 4.0"
Width: 0.90"
Wgt w/o mag: 14.8 ounces

Kahr PM9 for the win.:D

I have a PM9. Its shorter dimensions (front to back and top to bottom) make it superior for pocket carry IMO, simply because it takes up less of the pocket. Unquestionably the Walther - as well as the new Taurus PT709 Slim - is thinner, but I am unsure how big an advantage this really is.

Unquestionably????

I've owned and carried the PM9. and the PPS in both 9 & 40. I found the PM9 had the advantage for pocket carry as the overall length of the PPS was just a little too long. Both pistols were equally reliable, but I just found myself carrying the Kahr more often.

I cant trust the Kahr, and even though I have never tried the Walther, I have tried enough examples of the PM9 to confidently say that the Walther must be more reliable. :)

Did not like my PM9

I owned a PM9 and did not like it. The frame flexed so much that with the 7 round mag in the gun if I put my finger on the finger extension of that mag the gun would jam.

Their polymer frame just did not seen very good to me.

I have neither shot or handled a PPS so I can't say how good or bad it might be. However, after they first came out I heard that they had problems. Don't know about now.

Take care y'all

Why? Because I like the PPS more, plain and simple. Key words: "I think"

I explicitly expressed that they are pretty darn equal. I personally prefer the PPS due to its features, accuracy, and its overall feel. That being said, I would love to own a PM9 also.

I'm going to simply state a saying that you hear all the time around here: It's all about personal preference.

So since you

I read somewhere that, the 1.04" width of PPS is the maximum width, including the slider release and takedown buttons. Without, the width is .91"...

Unquestionably????

ain't buying that stuff "jelly jar". surely u could come up with a more realistic reason. flex, ***???

I loved the size of my PM9, but chose to stick with the S&W 340PD for CCW. I just didn't trust the Kahr.

If choosing between the PM9 and PPS though, I would take the PM9. It is much smaller and easier to conceal.

I own a PM9 and PPS 9mm

I like to carry in my front pocket so for me the Kahr wins by a substantial margin. Much lighter and smaller than my PPS. I carry the Kahr daily in a DeSantis Nemisis pocket holster. They are both great guns but the Walther is definitely a belt gun IMO.
