Kel Tec just raised MSRP on the P3AT

I ordered my p3at and expect it to arrive this week (no obligation to buy order, but it is being sent for me with a hold). Anyway, I was frustrated with two local shops that were selling for more than MSRP ($329 vs. 299 for blue). MSRP is enough, let alone msrp +. I went to the kel tec web site today and see they updated it and the new price for this gun is now $324 msrp for blue. Not sure how much mine will be once it arrives.

also, stopped by another local gun shop and he said he is a retailer of kel tec but did everything he could to talk me out of that gun, saying it is junk. I guess he got frustrated w/ all the problems, and said the company has done it again with the pf-9. I still may end up buying the darn sw 642 or 340 when its all said and done. Sure like the small size of the kel tec though.

Some swear by them.. some swear at them ... I have been VERY impressed with my P11.. I have shot nothing but STEEL cased ammo and had NO problems..

I went out to get the P3AT Friday and could not find one. The dealers say they can't keep them on the shelf. I guess I will have to order one.

I love my little first gen P3AT. It has over 400 rounds through it with only 2 malfunctions. One was with WWB flat point ammo, after 75 rounds of continuous firing and the other was from a friend limp-wristing. Thats a pretty good track record, and I have about 99% confidence in it. In hot weather, when pocket carry is required, it replaces my Taurus .44spl snubbie as my carry gun.

That stuff hangs up in my Grendel, too, which has gone a couple thousand rounds with its favorite reloads. It's the flat point, short OAL that hangs up on the feed ramp. All I have to do when shooting the stuff is tap the rear of the slide when it happens. I guess it happens about 4 or 5 rounds out of a box. The flat point stuff MIGHT not be a bad defense load, but it's not 100 percent. Wouldn't expand, but I'd think the flat point would offer more tissue damage. I worry a little about an expanding bullet getting enough penetration in this caliber.

KT did raise price. Now Store I used raised to 240 in stead of 220. What this 300 junk. No way total rip off . I have 3 of them mine all work fine . They all have been fired over 500 rounds

Sold mine a while ago to help pay for my Glocks.

They can mess with the MSRP all they want. They can still keep them.

Some really like them though, and supposedly when you get lucky and get a good one, it's a great little pocket-pistol.

I got burned already though so, fool me once shame on you..... etc.

I guess most people are lucky. I only know of 1 first Gen that didn't work right .Had lots of problems KT replaced the pistol with a new one. Para Ord. didn't replace my bad PA pistol They worked on it. But still was junk. Gee who has better warrenty. You could have got you fixed if bad or replaced. But you didn't. Now you choose to bad mouth them . I gave Para a chance Did you in all fairness give KT warrenty a chance.

I been lucky 3 times I guess 2 P-32 and 1 P3AT I getting ready to try #4 in next couple weeks.

I got seriously interested in one of those a while back, until I dry-fired one.

Even though I have small hands, I have trouble with gun frames and grips under a certain size. I actually (and to my much greater dismay), found that I have trouble with J-frame snubbies as well - or at least the ones with the little round grips.

The other thing for me was the trigger; not nearly as hard as I would have thought, but verrrry long. Like pull it up against the frame long.

A shame, really. I loved the idea of having a gun that was less bulky than my wallet.

I just bought my second Kel- Tec, had the P32, payed 259. Some of these gun dealers will try and take advantage of the supply issues and rip you off.

They are not target pistols with match grade triggers by any means no, but my 2nd gen has 450 rounds or so through with no malfunctions so I'm happy.

With the aftermarket laser on it the shape is changed enough that it doesn't even look like a gun in your pocket, looks like a square wallet.

I could have picked up a P32 at a recent gun show for $199, but had a certain .357 revolver I wanted. I don't care much for .32 ACP either. All the effectiveness of a .22 with the ammo cost of a .45 Colt, the worst of both worlds. If I get one, it'll be the P3AT, but it's not a raging desire or anything. I have my CCW bases covered. Besides, I don't wanna be tempted to carry the thing for it's tiny size in lieu of my P11 for it's 11 rounds of +P 9x19. Nice little gun, though, and TINY. It's a danged good little CCW if you're good with .380 as a caliber. I'd just rather have a little more penetration and expansion in my 9mm bullet. I carry a .380 when I can't carry anything else, though. It has come in very handy for certain situations.

They go for 225-240 NIB in the atlanta area if you look. As far as reliable, i have only had a couple of FTE and no FTF. Most problems in new models occur due to limp wristing, by people who are used to "normal" weight handguns. You really have to lock your wrist on the p3.

If you look around online enough you can find P3ATs at a good price. I bought a parkerized one for $197 plus shipping from Bud's Gun Shop a few months back. CDNN is now selling blued ones for $209 plus shipping. Online sellers seem to get them in batches and soon sell them out.

Yep, you can find good deals on them. $200 (cash price, no tax) for an HC version at a local gun show. Just keep looking.
