Kel-Tec PMR-30. What do you think?

I want one... looks like it will be an awesome little plinker..I cannot imagine any practical use for it but, then again, I dont own guns for their practical uses.

Hardly practical for anything other than random plinking and getting a big grin after squeezing the trigger 30 times.

As for ammo cost it sure is less than any centerfire unless one reloads off course.

I wonder if the fun factor will last though.

i want one, and wouldnt mind carrying the thing. 30 shots is a whole lot of time :p and imagine 2 other mags....

If they made one in .22LR I would buy it in an instant. The .22 mag is cool and all, but it is really more of a rifle-optimized cartridge IMO. With such a short barrel, the velocity gain would not be enough to justify the added cost of ammo.

If it is reliable, it would make an awesome defensive gun for people who are recoil sensitive. Heck, 30 rounds of .22 Mag would be brutal.

Are they actually in production yet, if so what do they cost?

I checked ammo at Walmart and it was $10 per box, not a huge savings but some is better than none.

I want one, but I don't know why.

That said there are a LOT of guns I want MUCH worse so I highly doubt I'll ever own one, I certainly wouldn't buy one new.

Cool looking guns. Should be lots of fun. I really enjoy shooting my .22 Mag OMM. (Converted from .22 LR)

.22 Mag in a short barrel still dwarfs the .22 LR in a short barrel.

Here are some numbers in a scant 1 5/8" barrel.

Wanting one chambered in .22 LR is absurd--there are 436,291 other handguns chambered for that. This would be the only autoloader in current production chambered in .22WMR.

And yes, I want one. And like so many others, I'm not entirely sure why. :)

I heard a rumour in a thread over on www.zombiesquad.com that there will be a conversion kit for .22LR (supposedly it was announced at the SHOT Show, but I haven't yet found anything "official"). I'd buy one anyway (once Kel-tec gets the bugs out), but if they do make a conversion, that will make it a "must buy" for me.

I have 3 kel tecs and this would be the 4th if I ever find one consider it bought. Not a big 22mag fan but just the concept and price point makes me want one.

I'm new to this so what kind of quality does Kel Tec deliver?
they're inexpensive ;)

and yet none of them hold more than 10 effing rounds!

This thing is tugging at unsatisfied toy appetites as we all seem to want one but have no logical reason for it.

You know, .22 mag may not be the best self defense caliber, but if hit someone 30 times with it, I have to imagine it would suck for them.

Sure, as if you would ever get that opportunity. That is the problem. If all goes well, you might land one or two rounds on target before the fight is over. The question is whether or not the bad guy will be landing rounds on you while you are awaiting your rounds to take affect. Out of the pistol, the .22 mag is about like a .22 lr fired from a rifle, only with more recoil and tremendous muzzle flash.

Yeah it's a .22 Mag that holds 30 rounds. It's also a Kel-Tec, so you'd be lucky if the first round even ejects!
