Kel-Tec : What's the Latest Opinion ?

2ea P3ATs, 1 ea P11, 2ea Sub2000's (one 9, one 40), 1 ea PF9 here.

Only one I sold was the PF9, worked fine if a very firm grip was held. A little range time, my wrist started tiring and it would give problems.

After picking up a couple of Kahr CM9's the PF9 went to a new home. All my other KelTecs have been good.

I have two: a PF-9 and a P3AT that I've carried for about five years now. For that purpose, they're just about ideal. Low cost, and not something you'd miss terribly if confiscated for an investigation. With both, I did a fluff n' buff when brand new and I haven't had any issues with reliability. KT does have a reputation for producing some dogs, though. But I hear their customer service is pretty good. I've been fortunate enough to never need it, so far.

I have a P-32. Probably fired about 500 rds through it. No issues whatsoever. It's a great little pistol.

Kel-Tec just doesn't do it for me, I think they have come up with some innovative stuff over the years but for some reason none of it appeals to me. Cheap-looking, ugly guns...the P11 without a drop safety...I don't know, they just aren't for me. The only thing that came close was the KSG, but then they came out with the whiny, self-serving price raise at the height of the ban hysteria and pretty much locked up my distaste for the company.

What price rise? Which models? Do you know what the before and after panic prices were?

I was understand it to be distributors, dealers, and sellers raising the prices on their stuff, not kel tec

They put out a press release on their Facebook page in January that said they were raising the price of the KSG because they had an inside source that said it was on the ban list and because it would imminently be banned they had to make back their investment on R&D and tooling. No rally the troops, no fight for what's right, just instant resignation and price hike. I, and many others, were extremely disappointed given the effort other manufacturers put into fighting for our rights this year.

We have a PMR-30 and like it. My only experience with them. Will buy their .22 mag rifle when they come out with it.
