I was at Cabelas yesterday and they have the gun library where you can pretty much handle whatever you want without asking to see it as well as the 4 racks of used guns that aren't chained up. I walked over to see what they had used and 4 kids from about 17yo-22yo were pickup up the AR's making machine gun sounds, laughing, and one kid picks up a long gun and starts racking the slide or the bolt like he's rapid firing it (probably not good for the gun) they then make their way into the gun library where no one is working and pickup an M1 and start slamming the bolt opened and closed pointing it all over the place at their buddies and other people. I came a hair of saying something until idiot dad, brother, or uncle walks in and starts encouraging it. They then move to the $1000 lever guns and are attempting to rack the lever like a maniac holding it like a pistol grip shotgun.
Am i the only one who thinks you should have to ask an associate to see a firearm? I took it like they are used so who cares what happens to them when they put them out like that. It also seems that cabelas aren't an outdoorsman store they are more of a tourist attraction!
Sorry guys for the rant but that really ticked me off last night. About 10min into them acting like idiots and me and my buddy minding our own business looking at old Winchester lever guns in the gun library which he has a few of the gun library attendant comes over and asks me if i need help with something! I guess he didn't like how i kept looking at the stocks on 2 rifles trying to decide if i like monte carlo or classic for my next boyds purchase!
