My KISS rifles.

At top : M1A-A1 ( This one left the factory sporting GI M14 parts in all the right places. The bbl is the factory 18in non chrome lined 1/11 twist)

At bottom: My M14S Tanker (GI M14/SEI/Sadlak parts with a Criterion 18.5in chrome lined std contour tube)

I use them for everything a centerfire rifle can be used for. ( General target shooting, matches, hunting, security, etc...etc.....

Simple to maintain, lock n load, shoot, and reload. The location of the safety in relation to the op-rod handle and mag release makes it one of the most KISS friendly rifles to point and shoot something with...... especially due to how well balanced it is.....and from any shooting position.

The sling itself is very simple, easy to adjust as a shooting aid, and is also capable of supporting the weight of the loaded rifle off the shoulder when I am in need of both hands for other work.

Anything within my effective range worth shooting can expect to be ventilated with one or more 30 caliber bullets, regardless of if they are behind a tree or not.

For me at least, KISS = proficiency through repetitive use. Since the rifle is semiautomatic, there is no need to manipulate a bolt or lever between shots....... thus very simple to acquire the next target as this is all I need to focus on.

I keep pretty much all my rifles simple ... these haven't been out of the safe in a while ...

This 1950's vintage Marlin 39A was in pretty bad shape when I came across it ... I rebarreled it with a Marlin 39 Century barrel (20") and forend and refinished the metal and wood.

Marlin 336 in 30/30 with peep sights, the original KISS rifle. The stock was water damaged so she's a rescue I picked up on the cheap.

I'm a big fan of my M95. It's surprisingly accurate, hits hard and is very light, compact and overall handy rifle (not to mention fast with the straight pull).

rifle on top was a bubba'd 1903 MK1 that I turned into a faux 1903A4 for a friend. the bottom rifle is an original 1903A4 that I spent a year restoring from a barreled action.

How bout a10/22 and Mossberg 500, both bone stock. Even the pistol in the picture is a simple one.

I never thought of my M95 when I thought of keeping it simple but having just now broken it down to strip and oil the stock I must say that it does fit that bill as a nice, simple rifle.

CZ-452 Trainer

Come to think of it, I don't own a single scope or optic, other than the scope that came with my Gammo .177 air rifle. And I don't even use it, I just enjoy shooting irons (wish the Gammo had irons instead of fiber optics) so much more. But to each his own.
