Kahrs have too short of a reach for me to like. My finger starts to curl to pull the trigger, even on the .45 ACP models.

But that Kahr posted by bc is the one I would want, if I ever were to purchase one.

Here's one I doubt anyone has seen. Its the very rare AMT On Duty pistol. It was built for a very short time in the mid 1990's. Less than 1000 were ever built.

Not a pretty gun, but certainly different.

Back to the classic Walthers. Here's a West German PPK/S in 32ACP from 1970. Its in mint condition. I don't think it was ever fired.

bc1023 - I found a 1911 that you must add to your collection. The 2009 LTW (#7) Raffle gun from the SHOT Show. It is over on the Sigforum

It looks nice. Two problems though...

1. I really don't buy 1911s anymore. I've got so many, that I decided to focus on other components of my collection. I've got over 5 dozen.

2. I never bought a 1911 with a rail (and can't imagine starting now).

Its a cool 1911 though.

And I do not blame you there! LOL

I'd be wrapping it in a terry cloth! Of course, . . . I'd be doing that with most of what you posted.

Anyway, very nice!

Here's a couple more unfired safe queens I own...

Another vintage Walther classic (P38)

For a short time, Walther finished these fine guns in a polished blue. I just happen to have one.

...built in 1967.

Here's a Colt National Match from the same year (1967)

Thanks for the pic of that front, bc. Quite unique!

Also, your safe queens are exceptional! A blued P38? Never seen one before until now.

Man! what is it about that gorgeous bluing on older guns? Is it too expensive to duplicate these days? Is it something only time can produce like diamonds? Or what?

In some ways it's a lost art. Yes, it's done on occasion these days, mostly for special editions and the like. However, it's generally not a standard finish.

Most companies use various black finishes that offer much better wear and corrosion resistance. The drawback of blued guns is the fact that it offers little resistance to the elements and shows wear almost immediately. Plus, it's not exactly a quick process to do it right. Sadly, it's just not popular anymore. Everyone wants the latest "tactical" super finish, I guess. Even companies these days that call their finish "blue" is rarely the same thing.

Case in point: Do you ever see Ruger do this kind of bluing nowadays? This is an old 3 screw Super Blackhawk from 1971.

This is Ruger from decades ago. You don't see any long warnings on the side of the barrel, just a beautiful finish. New Rugers have nothing of the sort.

Thanks, the blued P38s aren't overly common, but they do come up for sale here and there. In fact, my local shop has another one, but its certainly seen some use. Its the same shop where I bought mine. :)

Here's my Walther P5. Its a great shooter, but you have to get used to the cartridges ejecting left. :)

Anyone like the Walther P88?

Here is my P88, P88 Compact, and P88 Competition. They are amazing pistols, especially the single action only Competition model.

I traveled to a local gun store yesterday and was shocked to actually see a Sig P210 for sale. Price was $2154. This was the first opportunity I have had to hold and cycle a P210. I was surprised a little by the slimness of the pistol. It was very comfortable to hold. I guess the bug has now bitten me. The P210 is now on my bucket list of firearms to own before my time is up.

See what you started bc1023? :)

I love the Sig P210. I prefer the Swiss models, but the new German models are very nice as well. Yes, it's a slim pistol compared to many.

I assume you saw a German Legend model?

I am not sure! It was a new pistol, German made, and looked like the one in your first pictures. They said they had gotten in two pistols with the shop owner taking the prettier wood selection. The grips on this one were nice but not necessarily beautiful if you know what I mean. It was the first and only P210 I ever saw up close and unexpected to boot. I am embarrassed to say that I paid more attention to the slide, trigger pull, and action. I never actually noticed which model was in my hand. I suspect I may have to take what becomes available when my pennies are ready to buy one. I have a camera on my phone, but it never occurred to me to take a picture.

If it was German, it was the Legend model. The Swiss models haven't been built in several years now.

The first one I posted in this thread is a Swiss model.

I never thought this thread will go 11 pages over when I started it.

Lots of good posts and pics, but unfortunately very few have got anything to do with the subject matter.

Thus I request the MODS to change the thread heading for better guidance in search engine.

Been a while...Any new additions to the stable of beautiful pistols?

I'll have to go back and look through to see what I posted and what I didn't. I think I only posted less than a third of my collection in the first place...
