...and to think I balked at buying one when they were $1400. It just felt odd to buy a Italian made 1911...even when designed by Jardine (and he's local to me)

Yeah, I wish I would have bought a bunch back then.

Nice pistol [that I've never heard of]!

Which of the guns you have posted have been the LEAST expensive? I don't mean to bring up that Beretta again, but I would guess it would be in that group?

Probably the two stainless S&Ws.

I see. The S&W pistols are my least favorite of your collection. Understandably, I'm sure. Where would that Beretta list at [price range]?

Thanks, tarosean. Nice! Still too much for my wallet. I'd like to see a video of it being shoot. I'll have to check out the tube.

I guarantee you they wouldn't be your least favorite if you shot them :)

I'm sure that's the case bc. But I am going mostly by appearance. The ones I like the best are the P210 pistols, particularly the Swiss.

I'm actually not even a fan of stainless handguns. I have several, because its the only way certain guns were available, but its not my choice.

The Beretta Steel I is not stainless.

Is it hard chrome?

Yeah, I'm more fond of a nice clean looking blue gun with nice wood grips.

The Steel I has a nickel teflon finish, according to Beretta.

Maybe this vintage Smith & Wesson 52-2 more suits your tastes. :) Its one of the most accurate pistols ever built.

Here's a stainless gun I do really like the looks of.

Anyone like the 44 Auto Mag?

Aesthetically I will join the club of not particularly caring for S&W autos, but the 52 is, in my own opinon, the best looking gun they have ever made, and that includes revolvers. I really, really think that is a good looking pistol. And, of course you are right. Every non-sigma S&W pistol I have shot was a beauty in terms of function and accuracy. For that matter, aside from the "Swocks", I am not even that down on the newer Sigmas. I mean, it's not a favorite, but they aren't the worst guns in the world either.

A buddy of mine in college got into shooting, and he called me up one day a couple of years ago and told me he had bought his first pistol, used. I asked him what he got, and sure enough, it was a 52 that he paid <drum roll> $300.00 for. It was in decent shape too. The bluing was a little worn, and the grips had some dings, but it was in good shape otherwise. Inspecting it, I got the feeling it spent a lot of time riding in a holster and very little time being shot. The best/worst part is that he was genuinely worried that he had gotten ripped off. He still has it and shoots it often!

Oh, my....What fine taste you have, BC. You are truly the only person I know that lives up to the phrase attributed (I think) to both, Sir Winston Churchill and Orson Wells...

"My tastes are simple...I'm always satisfied with the best."

A sincere "Thank You" for sharing...

Thank you for the very kinds words, everyone. I'll post some more stuff soon...

Anyone ever see a CZ 75 Champion? It was CZ's top of the line competition pistol a while back. They are no longer built and very seldom seen.

Its an awesome shooting pistol.

Here's another rare one. Its an FN Hi-Power Competition.

They aren't pretty , but they shoot great. They came factory with the Pacmayr grips and parkerized finish. Its actually the only Hi-Power that came standard with a great trigger.
