Korth semi auto: need your opinion.

Frank, thanks for the very kind words. You have a great collection of your own.

I once thought about getting a Janz. Its like a scaled up Korth in some heavy magnum calibers. I may one day if the opportunity presents itself.

Like I said, I'm not really a collector of exotic revolvers. I like the classic Colts and Smiths. :)

Anyone familiar with the Benelli B76? Its a DA/SA auto with a fixed barrel. I find it very accurate.

BC, is the collection limited to handguns, or do you also collect rare long guns?
I'm sorry to ask you so many questions about this. I'm just absolutely fascinated and floored.

Wow!! Another great gun you've got there! Too bad Benelli doesn't make handguns anymore......

Reading this thread is like watching a show about weapons. The wow never stops!

Another vote to "sticky" this thread!

There should be a collection of Lugers coming available here very soon. They have been tied up in customs for a couple of years but I hope to have the opportunity to at least look at them within a month. No prices yet but it will probably be prohibitive for me.

No problem, questions are fine.

I have just the long guns I need. I don't collect them. I'm strictly a collector of handguns.

Glad you like the thread, Frank. I'll post a couple more tonight.

Anyone familiar with the Steyr GB? I love this pistol.

How about the AJ Ordnance Thomas? Its a blowback 45ACP built right here in the USA circa late 70's. Certainly an odd one, but high quality from my experience.

How about the MAB PA-15? It was built in France starting in the mid 1970s. It was the first 9mm with a magazine capacity higher than the 13 round the Browning Hi-Power held, hence the name.

It also has a rotating barrel and a very solid build quality. This is a single action only pistol.

Here's a much more well known classic pistol 9mm built in Radom, Poland. Its the F.B.VIS P35.

I also love Spanish pistols.

Here's an original Star Model B. They share some similarities to the M1911 and have been around a long, long time.

Here's another real oddball. Its the Llama Omni. They aren't the best of quality, but they were innovative at the time.

I just love stuff you don't see everyday.

Back to Italians. The Bernardelli P One is another very cool pistol. Its also very rare these days.

Here's another very rare bird. Its a Vektor SP1, built in South Africa.

The Mauser HSc is not overly rare, but I think its one of the most beautiful pistols ever built.

I'm waiting to see the Semmerling LM-4 and the Vektor CP-1

My first impression upon handling a GB was that it was bigger than I expected...cleaning the outside of the barrel after shooting wasn't much fun either..

My encounter with the MAB P-15 was even more interesting. It had been used as a USPSA race gun and was shooting 9mm Major...right up until it blew it's slide off in load developement

Yeah, I wouldn't recommend shooting 9mm major in the PA-15. Sounds pretty irresponsible to me. The guy got what he deserved.

The GB is not a simple pistol, but mine runs pretty well. :)

I always thought the Semmerlings were cool. The Vektor CP1 was a very bad design. It was recalled for safety reasons.

I don't disagree with the design flaws. But it is interesting in that the exterior was designed by a college design class and because of it's appearance in a number of TV shows...my favorite was Battle Star Galactica.

I was never able to get one before they were recalled; I just wanted it for the cool factor, like the H&K P9S

bc1023, . . . would the F.I. Industries Model D 380acp qualify as an odd duck and worth keeping [if you had one]?

Yes it would, in my opinion. In fact, I almost bought one of those last year. I'm not a huge collector of 380s, but they are cool pistols.

Its similar to a Colt Mustang.

I love the HK P9S.

My HK collection is rather small in comparison to some of my other collections, but I own a few. I posted the P9S Sport earlier in the thread. Here is is again (wearing the standard grips) with my other HKs. The Sport model has the target sights, barrel weight, and can only be fired in single action.

P7M8, P7M10, P9s, P9S Sport, and Mark 23

I must say, you are only the third person I've known who has owned a P7M10.

Very nice H&Ks. I've carried the P7 and the P9s as duty guns and always wanted a P9S Sport

Thank you for all the kind words. I really love the P9S Sport. The trigger is outstanding and the gun balances very well for range use.

As for the P7M10, it's one of the softest shooting 40s ever built. It's also very accurate. I think the thickness of the slide is a bit ridiculous. I think HK actually rushed it to market when the cartridge was introduced. It's a very high quality gun, but I think it's bulkier and heavier than it needs to be.

I was contemplating selling mine, but may just keep it, due to it being rare. I only brought it up because it [as I understand it] was pre the Star pistols, and you mentioned liking Star pistols. Also, it has Wash DC on the slide, which is rather bizarre in the gun culture we live in now.

Anyway, thanks for your opinion. When it comes to pistol collectors, that means a lot! I'll post an image here later this evening.
