Unbelievable. I don't know what to say, except that a great man and staunch patriot has been taken from us, and our nation is the poorer for it.

Rest in peace, labgrade. We will carry on the mission. My sincerest and most heartful condolences to Crystal.

Condolences to the family.

Looking back on the good times, my most favorite post by Labgrade.
Hkmp5sd quote:

"For the record, being subversive and somewhat rebellious, my hair is mid-back length. Nothing like being a ultra-right wing conservative, Christian, gun fanatic, bookworm, non-smoking, heavy metal music listening, Peter Pan syndrome, adult white male and a hippie! "

You have redeemed yourself to me in so many ways! :neener:

From the "High-And-Tight" Haircuts On Cops thread. Who couldn't like a guy with that attitude!!

Bye guy. :(

Ah ????, lask week there was a suicide (posted his note there even) on a message board I post on, and now this.

:(

I am just stunned, can't stop crying

I had the privilege of having lunch with Al when I was working in Longmont, CO. He picked me up in that little pickup of his.

He was a rather imposing structure as he stood about five-nineteen. A bit gangly but you knew he was there. It was something to watch him unfold from that small pickup. Definitely a man to look up to in more ways than one.

He was truly a force in the firearms community for whom a replacement will be sorely needed but hard to find. He worked tirelessly to get Marilyn Musgrave elected; and it is by that effort that a Second Amendment Caucus now resides in the House of Representatives.

His posts of late had been rambling and a bit disoriented as the anti-depressants took him over. Still didn't stop him, though.

When I proposed leafletting at airports for arming pilots, he was the first one on board. We had tentatively considered Memorial Day weekend or Labor Day weekend to do it at Denver International Airport. I guess I will be standing alone that day; but through the grace of God, he will still stand with me.

Al, God bless and keep you. I miss you already.

I'm speechless.

We were going to go meet Labgrade for the first time when that whole dogbite thing interupted it on the 17th. Never met him and feel like I lost an old friend. God bless him & his family.

I just spoke with Dudley. For those who have been asking, they don't have any new information now, but will share it with their email list as soon as arrangements have been made.

I know we have several members who are on that list. Would one of you please post the details for Alan's funeral when it is available?

For those of you near Loveland, CO, our membership would be in your debt if you would pay your respects to his family in person for all of us.

:(

How very sad. Like many here I have enjoyed his posts for years. He will be missed. My deepest condolences to his family.

:( :( :(

I talked to Labgrade on the phone a few times. He was a genuinely warm and caring person. His love for his family stood out all over him, and he had a wide circle of friends both online and in real life.

He will be missed.

Rest In Peace Labgrade

TAPS

Day is done,
gone the sun,
From the hills,
from the lake,
From the skies.
All is well,
safely rest,
God is nigh.

Go to sleep,
peaceful sleep.
May the soldier
or sailor,
God keep.
On the land
or the deep,
Safe in sleep.

Love, good night,
Must thou go,
When the day,
And the night
Need thee so?
All is well.
Speedeth all
To their rest.

Fades the light; And afar
Goeth day,
And the stars
Shineth bright,
Fare thee well;
Day has gone,
Night is on.

Thanks and praise,
For our days,
'Neath the sun,
Neath the stars,
'Neath the sky,
As we go,
This we know,
God is nigh.

Damn!

Labgrade and I visited on the phone many times, communicated via PM / Email as well. Cared about this Country and Our Liberties, fought hard to protect and preserve these. Cared for his family, and friends , he considered these his wealth.

Good Bye my Friend -

Sincerest Condolences to Crystal and family.

Labgrade will not be forgotton - his work, his efforts, his principles and ethics live on in memory and typed word.

Steve

So sad!

This is such terrible news!
I did not know labgrade well, having only met him twice, but I really regret that now I never will. My heart and hopes go out to Crystal and all of Alan's family during these difficult times - may you find peace and good fortune soon.

Blows me away how my heart aches as I realize whom and what this thread is about... Never met the man, nor had I ever talked with him on a one/one basis but I feel sooo bad...

My thoughts are with his family....
