I'm in the process of upgunning from a Kel-Tec P-32 to a Kahr PM-45. (No half-measures for me!) :what::eek::D:D:D

Anywho, I have a Pocket Slipper laser on my P-32, and am planning on putting an Armalaser on the Kahr. I have the P-32 zeroed to hit 1.5" above the laser dot, so that the bore is roughly parallel with the laser. I figure that with aiming time, it's no problem to put the dot slightly below point of aim, and if there's no time to aim, it'll be within Minute Of Badguy, anyway.

For those of you who use lasers, is this the best method, or do you zero the laser to cross point-of-aim at a certain distance? It would seem that doing so would make precision shooting far more difficult.

I want to keep the laser close to point-of-aim out to 25 yds.

What is the purpose of the laser? To put the shot within a two or three inch circle. For self defense, you are not doing ANY precision shooting.

I have mine set to 30 feet. That means you will be within one inch (remember the two inch circle) out to about sixty feet.

You would not be there to knock off his third button. If you are unfortunate enough to have to shoot, you are going center of mass.

Don't over analyze it.

If you sight POI on the dot @ 25 you will be + or - 2" out to at least 40. What more would you need. Like he said, "don't over'anal'yze" ;-)

Maybe you'd want to zero at a closer distance?
My main objectives with a laser are:
1. Maybe red dot on BG's chest will register (thanks Hollywood!) if pointing a gun at him doesn't (it has happened)!
2. Self-defense

If you're using it for self-defense, is there any need to "zero" at 25 yards? If you shoot someone at 25 yards, how's that going to go over in court (the jury may not think you were in fear of your life at that distance). If you're not going to shoot 'em at 25 yards, why set it at that distance?

Jest something to think about?

BTW...one of my favorite videos-shows how fast a knife wielding attacker can be on top of you!

because if you zero at 7 yards you'll be about 8-10" off at 25.if you zero at 25 your 1" off at 7 yards.
