What can I do to get Swiss dual citizenship? Is it hard to marry a Swiss woman? If I ever can become Swiss citizen, I will have a huge bunker filled with fully and semi auto guns , definately will stock up on some of those HKs, Sigs and other Euroepean delights. My gun cellar will be side by side with my cheese cellar. Nothing like eating some fresh Gruyere with fruit in the morning, right before you get ready to do some shooting in the magnificent alps.

Ok, I am just fantasizing a bit, you know life gets old where you live after a while, you want to try something a bit new and exotic. I also hear Somalia has liberal gun laws, but you will probably end up using your guns to defend yourself there, I think Switzerland is more up my alley.

Just Saying Hi!!!

:pHi Shung,

It's been quite a while since my last message. I wrote some sad comments regarding the recent gunshooting incidents in Carouge, US and Germany, unfortunately, it was a bit long and had done it piece by piece and when I was about to send it I was cut off from my server and was not able post the message. Anyway, the gist is just about my lamenting on the victims and survivors and the hatred of these guys who perpetrated these events which brings a real bad name to our passion.

Is the Saturday invitation still on, possibly at 14:00 hrs. this Saturday, 21st? That is if it would fit your schedule, otherwise, we can do it probably mid-May. My buddy who wants to tag along has some dog training relieving job to do until the end of the month. He's currently working as a security for an influential person here in Geneva and wants also to procure and be a member of a gun club here.

Thanks and best regards,

Delta Wing:D

unfortunately, saturday only the morning is available (8am-12am). But the invitation is still up.

You know, Swiss people like their afternoon to be quiet and do not like the "bangs"...

Otherwise, there is the tuesday and thursday afternoon, from 4mp to 7pm.

Shung:p

'Guess will just have to do after your military service, perhaps, mid-May. Have to pickup the wife and kid on those weekdays. Thank you for the invite though. Hope it will still be on i May.

Regards and have a nice afternoon.

P.S.;)

Do you have any dealer recommendation here in Swiss other than in Lagardere or Naturaktiv where I can inquire about the Sig PL22 Trailside and Sig 522 Rifle. Any feedback/comments about those two plinkers?

The Sig522 isnt available yet.. You have other choices at the moment, like the GSG-5 (22lr clone of the Mp5)

as for the handgun,

What kind of 22lr you would like to shoot ? A sporting pistol, with a great trigger and ergonomy, or a plinking gun, with standard trigger and a LE/military look ?

If it's the latter, i'd advise you to get a Glock with a Advantage Arms 22lr conversion, real plinker that works great !

I had one, but had to sell it for another buy- (with regrets)

You can buy the 9mm pistol, and just get the 22lr conversion (slide, barrel and mag) along with it. You will be able to shoot both calibers according to your will.

100% reliability, and still great precision with a 25chf trigger work.

Can't help you with sporting 22lr.. this isnt my cup of tea..

For the dealers, if you dont want to shop with lagardere or Naturaktiiv or even Ingold waffen, there are 3 gunshops you can have a look in Geneva.

Daniel Roch, Atelier d'armurerie Roch Custom (in Vernier, just over the Harley Davidson Dealer)

http://rochcustom.com/

http://www.pistoliers.com/bourse_view.php?inpSearch=roch

or Cavioli

http://www.swissguide.ch/fr/Quincailleries-Outils/Geneve/353886_armureriepcavioli.html

or even, on the Place de Plainpalais, beside the GHI newspaper, l'Armurerie des Bastions.

Roch is the best I think, in geneva. But keep in mind. In Geneva, you'll often pay 20% more for the same guns.. that's just the way it is...

Of course, the invite is still up, whenever you want, at the indicated time schedules !

We need more people involved with guns and gunrights !

GSG 5 and Sig 522

Hello Shung!:)

How are you? Been busy on some things lately. Checked out the GSG -5 on the site of Roch Custom. I would say its a little bit pricey but I guess its worth it. You know any other site locally where they sell the GSG 5 lower than Roch's. Have tried Lagardere but they don't have it in their catalog. How about the GSG 5's accuracy/precision, any comment? Why is the Sig 522 not yet available, isn't this one is suppose to be made in Switzerland?

You've put me wondering about Glock and 22cal conversion kit. Is the Advantage Arms conversion kit readily available here or you just have to order it? If so, did you imported it and whose shop here you have contacted since uv mentioned you had once that kind of Glock that has a conversion kit.

Last question, in a Gunshow just like the one in Lausanne, is one purchase permit valid only for one gun shop per permit. What if I buy from one gunshop to another shop during the occasion? Will that permit be valid for a purchase of maximum of three guns for several gunshops.

Thanks for being patient on my inquiries.

It's not in Catalog, but he surely have it available. YOu will also find it at 1000chf at Naturaktiv AG

Precision should be ok.. but keep in mind. this is more a fun plinking gun than a pure precision sport gun..

The SiG522 is not available yet, because it's brand new

it's available is a couple of gunshops here, like lagardere, roch, or even one in lausanne a cannot remember the name right now.

Last question, in a Gunshow just like the one in Lausanne, is one purchase permit valid only for one gun shop per permit. What if I buy from one gunshop to another shop during the occasion? Will that permit be valid for a purchase of maximum of three guns for several gunshops.

It's normally valid for 1 gunshop at the gunshow.. but gunshops can transfers firearms in between them very easely, on their files.. So you just ask one of them to have the others guns transferred to him, (it takes a couple of minutes to all of them) and they you will have the 3 guns on 1 permit, from the same gunshop..

They are normally friendly on doing this. You can also do the same from Roch for example. Buy 2 guns from him, and ask Lagardere to ship the 3rd gun to Roch, which will put it on his own files before putting all 3 on your permit. (of course, you need to pay lagardere first, prior he ships the gun to Roch)

Thanks for being patient on my inquiries.

no problem. Btw, I took one guy from Finland to the range last week !

Shung,:D:cool:

Thanks again, you're really my man! How did the Finnish guy did on the range. Wish I was there with you. I was planning for today(thursday) to give a go for the range except that my son will be coming from a school trip/vacation form Spain at 6pm and the weather too is a little bit clumsy.

Just wondering why the GSG-5's in the US costs just around 500US$ and here its twice since the GSG-5's are just manufactured in neighboring Germany.

Do you think the GSG-5 sold thru Roch Custom is brand new and in a box or case?

I'll be looking forward to meet you then sometime-mid May after my relieving job.

Thanks and best regards,;)

Delta Wing :)

And I thought you only made chockolate, what's the cost of living compared to the US. It's looking like a good place to move .

cost of living is quite higher.. Salaries also.. in the end, it's quite the same.

Just wondering why the GSG-5's in the US costs just around 500US$ and here its twice since the GSG-5's are just manufactured in neighboring Germany

for the same reason Uberti sells the 1860 Henry replica 1100$ in the USA and nearly 1800chf here...

or for the same reason you can buy an AR-15 for 800$ in the US, and at least 2500chf here...

They know we have higher salaries and cost of living, and they "adapt" they f..ing prices..

btw, roch should be able to get you a brand new GSG-5, yes-

Gun Licensing

Shung,

How are you my friend, It's been quite awhile that I was off Geneva since I have to go to the home country for an immediate task and I had stayed there about a months after my relieving stint last May 9. Fortunately, I was able to secure the necessay clearances our consular office is requiring me for the issuance of an attestation from them.

Just would like to ask a suggestion from you. Do you think it would be wise If I could be a member of a local gun club to hasten and smoothen up my application for gun ownership even I still don't own a gun yet?

Thanks and more power,

Delta Wing;)

Frankly ? it could help, but there is nothing that requires you to do so..

Of course, discretely leaving a copy of your Swiss Shooting Federation licence inside the gun purchase permit application form, could speed up thing.. or not..

But anyway, joining a shooting society would open you the ranges door-

Gun Licensing

Shung,

Hi again, I wasn't able to ask you about military stint this year went. Hope it went well.

You know the reason I asked you about being a member of a Gun Club is that I feel that it would look more appropriate and convincing for officer-in-charge of our consular missiion here of my real and true intentions that the reason I'm applying for a gun permit is purely for sports.

I'm pretty much sure that you being an aficionado here on guns is already a member on one of these gun clubs. Now, is it ok to apply in your gun club, what are the requirements, fees, rules, etc?

Thanks and regards

Just Checking!

:DHi Shung,

Finally, I was able to purchase my guns. I was fortunately given by the Geneva police the green light. I'm now a proud owner of a Hammerli X-esse Sport, Steyr M9 A1 and and Anschutz 525 Rifle.

Any plans to shoot this afternoon? I have invited a friend and be bringing along my son for the maiden test fire of my M9 A1 in Versoix at 2pm. But if we can get in touch before that time and you are going to your favorite range then its a good time to meet.

Will be waiting for your reply I hope before 2pm. Will be going today since I will be unavailable Thursday onwards till Sunday. Hope you could make it and have a chance to meet.

Regards and ad hope to catch you

Delata Wing:rolleyes:

Hi there !

I did not plan shooting today, but still have some ammo for that- could be done !

Bernex (my range) Opens at 4pm though..

I was hoping to get a new gun today ( a new Uberti Winchester 1873 in 44-40) but I fear that it will only arrive tomorrow morning in my post office.

let me know, i'll be watchin this thread-

What's this Uberti Winchester 1873 a rifle or revolver? Will chk it out on Google! Congrats for the new acquisition. Seems this passion of ours is obsessive or should I say addictive. Hhahaa! Seems both I guess.

Marlin Camp 9! The holy grail of not able to get and he takes 2 pics of it without batting an eye! Where is the humanity! I scoured 3 states lookin for one...no wonder mine is in Switzerland!
