see, here in alaska, there isnt an air of pretentiousness or elitism in our gun community. you will find at the public, state-run range, high price lawyers, local police, state troopers, judges, doctors, metrosexuals (well when you can drag them away from the mirror long enough to shoot a few rounds, where ya at carberry? :D ) rubbing elbows with all the rest of us average joes.
even our state and city politicians will be found shooting next to slobs like me. women come down all by themselves to sight their hunting rifles in. families bring their disabled elderly who at the very least get to enjoy being around the guns and can give guidance to the younger shooters in their family.
famous people come up here and although we recognize who they are, we dont make a big deal of it. athletes with household names are found here all summer long fishing the russian river next to us, not out on some expensive charter. well known publishers of widely read magazines (issue of which are probably in your bathroom) will find a spot at the 'drip bar' next to you at 'charitable dancing establishments' (wasnt a complete shock to run into Col. Brown at the Bush Company :D ).

why? because we are all people who share one thing in common: a love of the shooting sports. elitism has no place in alaska.
