Bought a new LCP a few weeks back. The gun went to back to Ruger twice. Rebuilt the upper half the first time. Came back with the same problem. The pin that holds the slide and frame together was walking out. Sent me a second gun still having problems.
The gun will either leave the empty casing in the chamber or remove it anywhere from 1/3rd to 3/4ths of the way out. The ejector will let go of the case, grap the next round, and create a double feed from pressure from the new round trying to come up. Ejection is very erratic. Here's what I have done:
1.) Fired Speer Lawman FMJ, American Eagle FMJ, Remington FMJ, Hornady XTP's, Hornady Critical Defense, Remington Golden Sabers, and Winchester PDX ammo from it. All jam 2-3 rounds per box.
2.) Had 5 other shooters try shooting it with the same results. Their is no limp wristing going on here. I've shot for 40 years. The other shooters include a former Olympic Team shooter.
3.) I am not using the extended mag piece so I'm not pushing up on that. Flat base only.
The rims have very harsh marks on the rim from extraction. Their is a small dent on the cases that do eject about 3/4ths of the way up the case. And the ejection is radical. All over because it is obviously striking the the ejection port on the way out. It is leaving a brass mark on the front of the ejection port.
It is a late model gun. Some of the earlier guns had this problem but it was supposedly fixed by trimming part of the aluminum sub-frame. Ruger called and said they shot several magazines of Black Hills FMJ through it and had no problems. I have pictures of the FTEx plus the individuals that shot the gun. It shouldn't need one kind of ammo to work.
Again I know the limp wrist/weak ammo thing is coming. That's why I fired multiple types of ammo through it and multiple shooters. It isneither of the above. I think it is probably a tight or out of spec chamber. Could be the extractor. But they replaced that on the first one. It was hitting the ejection port on extraction so hard you could see brass flakes coming out of the gun from the cases. Any ideas?

Ruger usually does a good job. But what it comes down to is the gun isn't working for you. They can shoot it all day long with no issues but that doesn't matter a hill of beans if its not working for you.

You seem to have been pretty thorough testing it. I think they should just replace it at this point. I mean its an LCP not a 4k Nighthawk or some super expensive custom.

I think it need to be replaced. It does you no good going back and forth to Ruger. I think they need to realize you are not a satisfied customer and they need to make it right.

Good luck!
