LCP Max is bigger than original LCP

ontarget
I'm not a pocket carry fan, but the Max is a very concealable pistol in an IWB holster.
I have been carrying one daily for about 9 months now and love it.

That's pretty much the same way I feel about carrying my LCP-MAX. I have a P3AT for pocket carry in a DeSantis Trickster holster or a Don Hume Front Pocket holster and that works just fine for me. However I found that the slightly larger LCP-MAX is more comfortable and easily concealed with an IWB holster.

Those that have an original LCP the Mitch Rosen Express El Raton holster is excellent: minimal printing, secure and holster does not come out of pocket when drawing weapon.

Shown with a Kahr - the LCP version is similar in design but much smaller. Not sure if the LCP Max version is available.

It really is a lot bigger than the lcp 1 in ways even sites like handgun hero doesn't really show. The original lcp disappears. The max, you know it's there, and if others are looking at your pockets, they probably know it's there as well.

Mine was not accurate and not pleasant to shoot. For whatever reason, my lcp custom is a better performer for me. I have a metal guide rod, wide metal trigger, 13lb recoil spring and slip on grip that widens it a bit.

Carries like air, doesn't print in my DeSantis nemesis. 7+1 is pretty good. Nice big front site, apparently glows if you charge it up. I like the lcp custom a lot for what it is. I don't really know of anything better.

It's just for times a j frame prints too much. Those are rare, but they do happen. Beats harsh language.

The LCP and LCP II certainly are tiny .380 pistols. An LCP is almost exactly the same size as my 1980’s vintage AMT back up .380, but much lighter and more ergonomic. (The AMT is all-steel and is plain miserable to shoot!)

I photoed the LCP with the LCP II with a couple of other “pocket guns”, including the AMT and an Iver Johnson TP-22 along with a Ruger LC9 and a Kimber Micro 9 just to show the sizes. (I put the smaller gun on top and lined up the furthest-rear projection and the bottom of the mag extensions on each.)

The Micro 9 has a “beaver tail” extension under the hammer. The extra length pushes the LCP further back to line up with the furthest edge.

Hopefully you can find an original LCP or LCP II soon to replace the one you had and get back to more comfortable pocket carry.

Stay safe.

here the funny part.., I can’t stand the look of the LCP2 and love the look if the original. I also prefer thumb safety.

All the guns look very similar in size but for 12 hour a day carry. the little original is great for around town, in car, … carry!

Neither of my LCP pistols, my early LCP or later LCP II have a thumb safety, just a takedown pin and slide lock on the side. Did you add one? I haven’t ever seen a LCP, new or old, with a thumb safety and the parts list from the latest owners manual doesn’t list one.

My LC9 has a separate thumb safety and a slide lock. :)

I did have the original and I’m sure it had a safety… you got my brain slashing around . lol

Traded my LCP in on a LCP Max. Hated the trigger and impossible to see sights on the LCP.
The sights are 100% better on the LCP Max. However, I still hate the trigger and would say it's just as horrible and heavy as the LCP.

LCP MAX … I wish they would come out with a 13rd flush mag with a 15rd extended mag
and add a inch to the barrel
It would make a more shootable 380 and higher capacity

I guess it would be a LCP Max plus

Man… I guest I’m mistaken, carried that sucker every night for 2 years. Maybe I’m confused with my current pocket carry LC9
No worries. I thought I had missed a variant of the LCP.

The LCP II has a much nicer and smoother pull, and they added the trigger-blade safety ala Glock and others.

Stay safe.

what ever I can find for cheap and used. 1 or 2 … don’t matter. or mabey get a new LCP special addition!!! ooooh yeah

I have the LCP and wouldn't trade it for the -2 or the Max, as size matters :p:rofl:

I carry it the following ways:
  • Uncle Mike's ankle rig
  • Sneaky Pete (hidden in plain site)
  • Desanti's Nemesis
  • Clip draw (no trigger cover)
My favorite way by far is the Sneaky Pete. It is their smallest model and I put an Apple sticker on it, so it passes as an old man style cell phone caddy.

Yeah it is but it's still a VERY small gun, listen I have no issues pocket carrying Glock 26, 27 or 30 so to hear someone complain about an LCP MAX (I've had two) is a little silly, by comparison it feels like I'm carrying nothing.

I love dressing up my pock carry! My LC9, I tape a iphone case on the DeSantos holster. Looks like a Phone in my pocket
