LCP Max is bigger than original LCP

LCP Max is bigger than LCP original (gen 1 post recall). It's a tradeoff. Wider grip gives better handling and recoil management. Better sights, more capacity. Downsides, it's bigger so it's bigger in the pocket. The build is sloppy by comparison to my LCP and LCP II.

Today I decided that for tomorrow's NPE I must tuck in my shirt, and look respectable. LCP MAX in front pocket (holstered) with a spare mag in the other front pocket. I decided a long time ago that tuckable holstering is not for me, so small but not tiny is my answer.

LCP Max has a place! just need to find the place. It’s thicker than my LC9 and prints more

I bought an lcp custom for when an airweight prints too much.

Well, while the lcp weighs less and I can tell that, it prints MORE.

in a DeSantis nemesis the right angles of a pistol are clear. The 642 doesn't read gun. It's got an oblong shape, skinny, random cylinder bulge.

Looks like keys, gum, a phone etc.

Guess which is in my pocket?

Maybe I should sell the lcp.

maybe I should get a Airweight! lol

I love dressing up my pock carry! My LC9, I tape a iphone case on the DeSantos holster. Looks like a Phone in my pocket

Can you post a picture of that? Both Sides?

I find carrying a spare mag in the same pocket as my LC9s Pro and Uncle Mikes soft holster gives it a somewhat spare outline in my shorts pocket.

It just makes for a slow reload though.

I'm curious more about the holster setup than your pants...
I've hidden my gun behind my cell phone in my front shorts pocket before while at Zoo in Florida. It worked great until I needed to use my phone.

I do that too! I have a cell phone case I tape to the Desantoes holster to break the print. it just looks like I’m one of those techies with too many devices

yeah, I don’t have my original anymore. I’m going to look for one. I like the manual safety in it too. and yes, you forget it there. I’ll find a role for this Max. But it is noticeable bigger

Manual safety? No iteration of the LCP has ever had a manual safety, as far as I’m aware.

ETA: now is see this has already been pointed out, carry on.

This reminds me of how people will compare the sizes of true pockets guns like the LCP to say, a Sig P365. They will claim that because on paper the differences are so slight, that it doesn’t matter. But in reality, these seemingly small dimensional differences feel multiplied when carried around in a pocket all day, especially thickness.

Depends on clothing and size of the person. I'm 5' 9" with a medium frame, but I work with some big ol' fellas that wear some big ol' pants with big ol' pockets.

For me the tests for a pocket carry gun is a smooth quick draw and will the gun pull pocket down enough to bang my leg when walking.

I had a P-232 that I could draw but felt like a brick when walking.

The original LCP met the criteria I had but a max with 12 round mag would drag slightly on the draw from jeans.

Since I added a laser I haven’t tried pc from jeans because I found a nifty little belt holster.

This is how I carry my LC9s Pro in the front pocket of cargo shorts in the summertime / Florida. It won't work for me in Jeans. If I could design a pocket holster it would keep the gun and mag all in one square package. It does make for a slow reload but I have a 3rd mag that goes into my weak hand pocket.

That would make drawing the pistol even more difficult and slower than it already is with pocket carry.

You know those are guns because you put them there and we know those are guns because you told us. Other than that, none of those pictures scream "gun" to me, nor are they likely to scream "gun" to anyone else who doesn't have suspicion without additional reasons.

I’m a ride share driver and I carry in my left pocket. If I feel danger, and it’s happened a few times, I swipe the safety off with my left thumb, and gun is ready

I’ll do a pocket print comparison tonight. However, I don’t have a LCP, but my Max prints more than my single stack LC9
I have a CSX that's the same size as your LC9..I don't pocket carry it. My LCP Max is definitely smaller..albeit ¹/¹⁶" wider than the LC9. Plus the weight of a fully load LC9 compared to a fully loaded max..you do the math.
