I've never seen this before until today. I did a search on this board and found no history of postings... so here ya go...

Legal Fully Automatic Machine Gun Pistol that fires 9mm blanks. BATFE approved? Is this a scam?

Click on one of the products and watch the movie. Something just doesn't seem right.

Am I missing something?

Yup, the fact it's a blank firer. Looks like a gun, feels like a gun, but you sure as hell better not put live rounds in the thing and pull the trigger...

What would happen if you put live rounds in it? I don't see how this couldn't be converted to a real gun. *** mate?

I would imagine if you put live rounds in it, you'd best be able to learn how to be a lefty ASAP.

Maxsell is the same brilliant bunch that sells concealed carry badges. We are talking Mall Ninja Central.

That's not fair. I have a CWP badge and I'm not a mall ninja.

Those of us with badges prefer, "Mall Warrior"

:neener:

the blank pistols are fun to mess with on 4th of july, cause we cant have fireworks LEGALY(a law on paper only, not practice. unless someone gets hurt or property damage occurs) but its ok to fire blanks inside of city limits on the 4th and New Years! :D

Maxsell offers a lot of things that their ads lead one to believe are (or could) be real, honest-to-goodness guns -- but if you start looking for ANY information on what they are or how they work, or even what ammunition they use, you'll come up dry.

If I had a bunch of discretionary cash I'd buy one just to satisfy my curiosity, but I can't afford to throw away money so my curiosity remains unsatisfied. I have no doubts, though, that whatever they are pretty much equals "junk" and "scam."

Notice it says 9mmPA. That does NOT stand for Parabellum.

9mmPA is a blank only round, not the same as a regular 9mm.

9mmPA is BATF approved since the rounds are not interchangeable with "real" 9mm ammo.

9mmPA is fairly common and maxsell is certainly not the only place selling the things.

The movie biz used 8mm blanks for many years, but lots of people are moving to 9mmPA because it's MUCH louder.

They are also WAY expensive..... about 60 cents a round.

I will admit I've thought of getting a blank version of a Glock so that if I teach a friend firearm safety that has never handled a firearm, I can use "ammo" but at the same time not worry about a major accident with live ammo.

Then after they can safely load, unload, check the gun, hold the gun and shoot (following all safety rules) - then I take out a real gun.

I've used an airsoft pistol for teaching friends, but it's just not the right tool IMO.

The guy who runs Maxsell is one of the biggest idiots on the web.

Avoid at all costs, because, let's face it:
You don't really want to be the guy who ordered something from Maxsell. Your friends will all laugh at you.

I don't know. Are they really that bad?

I've never bought from them, and haven't even really looked to see if they have anything I could use (aside from maybe a blank gun should I choose one day to buy one).... but I do know they're only like 20 minutes away from me and that interested me.

Scenario:

You're armed... Bosco jumps out of a hide about 15 yds away and lets out a few short burps from his wannabefullautotoy laughs as you leap off the X. Are you drawing and mailing rounds at him? No? Oh... you knew it was a toy, huh?

With my luck I'd be bleeding if I played the toy role.

It is not a gun, can't be made into a gun, and would blow up in your face if you tried, it is just an expensive noisemaker. But I wouldn't want to have one in my hand when the cops arrive! :O

I'm sure I'm missing something, because the solution seems obvious. There are an assortment of snap caps and dummy rounds that are perfect for these purposes. Why would you buy an airsoft or blank gun that might only approximate the operation when there are plenty of reasonably priced options that are designed for just this type of thing

*** And just why did he have to have his shirt off?!! That was nasty. Just nasty.

Scroll down and read the comments. He has some great story about how he was so excited to get them he couldn't wait to make a video, but unfortunately was wearing a black shirt and was afraid we couldn't see the gun. I also get a kick out of this "3 round burst."

I'm pretty sure he is the owner. He has his shirt off because he was so excited to make a video and had a black shirt on and took it off to make the gun stand out better, or so he claims in the comments.
