Guys, I have noticed alot of chatter about Ohio and Taft signing the bill.

One thing I want to throw as caution in the wind. Out of state CCW licensees will not have the right to carry UNTIL Reciprocity is agreed with between other states and Ohio thru the Attorney General.

I suggest everyone keep an eye on www.packing.org as well as
www.OFCC.net for information on CCW Reciprocity agreements.

Just wanted everyone to heed to this and not get themselves in a pinch in Ohio. I am just as excited as everyone else since Im originally from Ohio and my family is there. I visit them alot and plan on going home again in the summer.

Congrats to Ohio is in order. Just be patient and good shopping by the way for your CCW weapon of choice.

Even if you have an out of state permit that is approved by the attorney general, I'd imagine that you would have to comply with car carry meaning that the gun in a holster would have to be exposed to the officer in a traffic stop or locked up in a glove box or container.

I'm just wondering if there is a holster that one may strap around their leg by means of snaps or velcro that one can place their handgun while driving. This would allow the firearm to be in a holster that is plainly visible to an officer and allow easy access in case of a carjacking attempt. Then you could snap it off and then place the firearm in your concealed holster.

It is going to take something to determine just how visible the gun has to be.

I read about someone who uses ankle carry, they have velcro on the bottom few inches of their pants so they don't have to hike them up. I wonder if opening this would be ok?

Does the gun have to be visible through drivers side window? Passenger's side window? Would this mess with road ragers if it was that visable?

I am just tossing out random thoughts I have had since some parts have been posted.

As for the around the leg holster, you could make one easily. Get an unclemikes holster, about 10-15 bucks. Then get one of those "tactical" belts with the snap buckle. I have some straps for a sleeping bag that are also easily adjusted and have a snap closure. Put the two together and see how hard it is to keep it in place while driving around and slamming on the brakes or something. I suspect one belt hrough the belt loops and another one attached to the bottom of the holster may be needed for fullsize firarms since I wish to maintain circulation in my leg and keep the gun oriented properly even in a wreck.
