Heres mine this is a 357 magnum with a 110 grain speer hollowpoint jacketed, topped off with 22 grains of H-110, the test was 2 pig hams with an pig shoulderblade behind those. the penetration of hams with no bone hit was about 9 inches, which is exactly what i wanted, all of the expansion energy to be within the first few inches for two legged creatures, PERFECT self defense load.
the expansion measured right at 7/8 on a inch at largest point and at smallest point was 5/8 this is amazing all of the 3 shots expanded within this range

Its a barnes style solid copper bullet, no lead core. known for good expansion and penetration with near 100% weight retention. (expensive though)

PERFECT self defense load
Debatable. Sternums/ribs are hard and that will limit penetration and the bullet could well deflect away from the vital bits. Better to have something that will punch in and expand.

hey crush i did a bone test as well , the expansion was great and the mushroom petals broke apart and turned to shrapnel, and it penetrated about 7 inches, still a PERFECT SD load

That's not a barnes bullet as far as I can tell, and it appears to have the 4 divisions pre-machined into the projectile.

45 ACP Speer Gold Dot shot from a Kimber Ultra.
.223 Remington JSP shot from a Kel Tec PLR pistol.

Bullets shot into a single gallon water jug and recovered in a box of rags.
