like the title says. i love pics like everyone else especially 1911's. i am wanting to get a 1911 for ccw to replace my current, give me some ideas! thanks.

I carry one of my two Colt Gunsite Pistols, government.

I like the concept of carrying a "COLT 45". Reliable, effective, and I have fought in Real Gunfights with this weapon several times.

It is also the first handgun I carried for serious social intercourse and world domination, 42 years ago.

Go figure.

I currently carry a Kimber Pro Carry series I. It's pretty much stock except for night sights, an arched mainspring housing, and Hogue grips. I'm working on a Springfield Ultra Compact that'll make a nice little carry gun for Texas if they haven't passed open carry by the time I get back.

Heres my S&W SC commander, in a Sparks WS1. Along with my Kimber UCII, that shares time in the same leather, er horsehide I carried a P345 for awhile, but it was just to big. I sold it and carried a much smaller G23, but it was too thick. Along comes the aluminum framed 1911 with thin grips, all I can say now is, Ahhhhhhhhhh

Like I said, I had a couple of malfunctions in the first 100 rounds but it has seen several hundred rounds since then without any problem. Accuracy has been good -- not as good as the Ed Brown pictured but better than a Colt I own. The magazine is Officer (or Compact) size which means the mags originally were designed for 6 rounds. However, there are now a lot of 7 round mags out there and it comes with a 7 round mag.

You get a lot of debate on whether the 7 rounders are as reliable in the officer size just as you get debate between the 7 and 8 rounds for the full size government model.
