HexHead I have to say that is the first python I have ever seen that looked like it has had some honest use, great job, beautiful revolver. I also love the look of XB's 27-2 both great specimens.
That fitz special is just downright cool. I can only wonder what stories that gun could tell of all the things that it has seen... And done.
I had the thought that it might be fun to buy one of the Rossi snubs (possibly the 461 if better-looking grips could be found for it) and do a fitz conversion on it. I would feel bad about doing that to a nice Smith, but as long as the Rossi was functional I wouldn't mind doing it.
Three old Colt New Service revolvers. One is a Target Model assembled in the 1930s. If target guns aren't tough guns, then the one on top is a New Service made in the year 1902 puts 'em all on the 'X' 107 years later. And if that ain't tough enough, the last one is an authentic M1909 that served the US Army in exotic locales such as the Philippines through the introduction of the M1911 semi-automatic. No, those aren't the original grips. The original grips are kept in the safe. These are the grips used on range trips.
I always liked the alaskan, I've been thinking of getting it for a while. But, the blackhawk is a great hunting piece especially with 305 grain corbon hunter rounds out of a 7 and 1/2 inch barrel.
I love an excuse to show this thing off. It's no range gun (recoil's a bit brisk with scandium) but I do like to take it out and let it off the chain every now and then, just to brag. Best of both worlds: light, but big and MEAN.
