You're right. Hella tough, fun to shoot, and eats for cheap. It was the first 7.62x25 that I had ever shot, and I was expecting it to kick like a mule from all the horror stories I had heard.
pffffft. It's a pussycat...a loud fire breathing pussycat Shoots like a 9mm barks like a .357. I'll never give this baby up.
Its a Winchester 94AE .44 magnum with a 16" barrel. I think this version with the short barrel, large loop lever and saddle ring was called a Wrangler.
Here's a more up to date pic of it with the receiver sight that is now on it.
'01 vintage 625-7 Mountain Gun in .45 Colt - my first-ever S&W. Presented new to me by my wife 9/02. Puma 24" M1892 SS octagon barrel .45 Colt with added Marbles Tang sight - bought new 12/02. Fred Vollmer 'Utility Knife' in 01 steel. My long time favorite .45 colt round, that 625MG eased out all of my Rugers. Eventually gained an adopted sibling, a 625-6 MG in .45 Colt - LN - and they don't fight! I guess their glee over pushing out my mix of Rugers was enough to satiate them. Super fun to blast away with - the MGs and the M1892.
Believe it or not but the muzzle of a gun when in someone's hand is always pointing at something. This time he had it pointed at a camera, and a picture happened to be taken. I don't see a problem with the photo. It's not like he's pointing it at his cat or something. It's all about context.
Hey, Cocked and Locked - here is your UDR/BW PC627's baby brother - hatched less than a month ago - bought yesterday - note the IL!
Brand new from the PC Shop those Eagle boots had a gap at the finger grooves - my old Ahrends rounded non-fg cocobolo stocks fit fine, however. I shot it yesterday with it's Eagles - did fine. Maybe Monday/Tuesday will find me trying it again - with the Ahrends. I think 8 rounds of .357M is pretty tough... okay, glorified .38s in .357M cases for me and my reloads. Neat, anyway!
