Evening all,
well as title say's I was out back putting some holes in a new burn barrel with the help of my new Whitneyville and after a couple of shots the lever dropped it prolly dropped 50% of the 24 holes I shot.
Now do I just live with this ?, cos I can ( it's just a tad annoying that's all ) or is there a fix other than putting something around the barrel and lever ?,
maybe a different spring or take a file to the catch "step" ?.
If I need to tweek the spring a tad how do I get to it ?.
If I need to file a tad ,,, where ?.
Thank you gents and ladies,,,,,, have a great night .

Well,
You can remove the latch and spring and drop in a small spacer which will keep the spring in a more "stressed" state or a short stout spring to do the same.

Mike

Sorry for the delay guy's .
Now , could I do both ? ,,,,,,, just to be on the safe side .
both look & sound feasible meaning I can prolly manage these tasks .
Mike, is that tiny roll pin the only thing holding the spring / latch in place ?.
Thanks gents ,,,,,,,, gobble ,,,,,,,,,gobble .

You could do both but I don't think there's enough room! Lol!!

Yep, the pin holds it all in. Just be careful when removing it, that you don't break the ear that the pin is being pushed through. Notice that one end of the pin is smaller than the other. Use a punch and carefully punch it out. (The slightly open jaws of a vice is a good place to do this.)

That should be included in a Goon's Gunworks mod-job! snicker.....

years ago we all used a rubber/ elastic band over it to retain the loading lever, on all DRAGOONS, back when we shot close to 60 grains in the WALKERS.
