Liberals Urged to Take on 'Right-Wing Nuts' on Talk Radio

Nothing wrong with having as many different viewpoints as possible. Hopefully, people seek out varied sources of information, rather than stick only with sources that they already agree with.

I saw no threat of censorship in the article, which ironically comes from a "news" source that has a pretty obvious bias. ;)

The "cool" thing about the "fairness" doctrine is being the one to determine what constitutes a political position and its counter.

The masters-of-what-we're-allowed-to-say concerned will simply declare CNN/NBC/ABC/etc. to be unbiased.

A person on TV reading news and pushing republican positions is called a right-wing shill. A person on TV reading news and pushing democratic positions is called a reporter.

I still have difficulty telling conservative politicians and liberal politicians apart. They do have big arguments in Congress-true. They are debating which areas of my life should have the greater degree of governmental control.

I find that-since I am not in favor of the government controlling any area of my life-I disagree with both types of statist politicians.

Choosing between Republican conservatives and Democratic liberals is akin to flipping a quarter. Whether it lands heads or lands tails, it is still a quarter.

You then vote strategically and try to buy time. Time to play with your toys, time to spend the income that "congress failed to tax away" to buy someone else health insurance.

What is the republicans' gift? Inaction, at least less "Action" than the other side promises on wealth redistribution.

Their socially conservative stuff? Like what? As of 1994 you could go to jail for bayonet lugs and a toilet that flushes too much. Have the Republicans made any such inroads in their "socially conservative" areas.

I agree that determining bias is an arbitrary thing. I've read people accusing a certain reporter of going easy on Republicans, and then read other people accusing the same reporter of being biased to the left. It all depends where you're coming from... and how far out you're coming from...

Steven Colbert said something like, "everyone knows reality has a liberal bias."

This one was probably doomed from the start, but here's the deal:
I am sick and tired of seeing effluent like "liberals" posted in my forum. Yes, this is my forum, before anybody gets the urge to be contrary, and it's yours too--for exactly as long as you are willing to treat it with the respect that implies.
Don't pee in the stream we all drink from. Savvy?

No more of these ridiculous made-up political insults. We are not in elementary school.

And quite frankly, although it does seem to have a lot to do with politics, I'm not seeing the connection to civil rights or to gun ownership. This thread is therefore closed. If Lawdog were here, he would be sighing at some of you.
