I have a glock 22 and I like it alot. Two days ago I purchased a Sig p226 and I do not like it as much. I think what I like about the glock is the low slide rail which reduces muzzle rise. I also like that there is no exposed trigger. Does anyone else make their guns with a hidden trigger?

Thanks,
Doug

I assume you mean the hammer and not the trigger. In the case of Glock, it is called a striker. Several other companies make pistols with that system as well. Smith & Wesson, for example, have both the Sigma and the M&P.

I like the Glock very much too. I agree with you that the low slide is a nice feature.

Doug,

Not quite sure what you mean by a hidden vs exposed trigger.

I've owned Glocks and found their triggers to be no less obvious than other designs. Do you mean the hammer? The Glock is striker-driven, thus has no hammer, exposed or otherwise.

Regardless, I'm pleased you like your Glock.

No sir, I don't like'um

But I do Respect them. I think that what you like about the glock, is what I don't like. but, to each their own... thats why Baskin Robins has 31 flavors.

To add to Universal's post on striker driven handguns, a few others are:
-S&W/Walther P99
-Springfield XD
-Steyr M-1A
-FNP (FN)
-FN FiveSeven (actually a hidden hammer)

do you mean no exposed hammer?

there has to be an exposed trigger dude.
you've only had the sig two days give it time and put some rds through it. you are lucky to be able to own such a fine weapon.

looks like several people beat me to it!

DogBonz,

LOL, that's why I used to own Glocks.
:)

I could just never grow to like the trigger or ergonomics. Although like you, I respect them.

The hammer

Sorry I do not know all of the terms. That's why I am hanging out with you guys. I guess I like that the hammer is internal. I really like my glock and want another pistol to go in my nightstand. Eventhough common sense says get another Glock I want something different. However the P226 I bought on Monday shoots nothing like my Glock. It kicks much harder and had much more muzzle rise.

...

Glocks are used by many Police Depts because of their reputation of keep-on-firing.. every time. And in drop tests from a 10 story to sidewalk, (LAPD test report) the only damage besides scratches was a slight dent in the front sight, and it fired every time when tested after each drop. And their "no hammer" designs are considered a great safety feature as well by the LAPD.

Myself, I'm a Sig lover, cause I like the same reliability that Sig carries along with Glocks, but I like the option of going from double-action to single-action which can set a tone in the eyes and ears of whoever is at the end of the gun by the cocking of the/a hammer. It's all personal touch and feel, like a great pair of shoes, a must fit.

Yes Love Glocks

Yes I Love Glocks. They just happen to fit my hand perfectly. I'm a proud owner of a G19 and soon to be purchased G26 as a CCW companion.

Great firearms. Indestructible. Great Customer service. Ease to field strip & clean. Limited number of parts to break.

Ive owned 2, a 19 and a 17.. while they were both great guns overall, I did experience malfunctions with them both, not due to inexperience on my part.

Glock has a good rep, great following, and glock is a pioneer in marketing schemes.

I did sell both of mine, for more reliable pistols, in my hands.
but since this is glock lovers thread, I wont spout about what Ive found more reliable, dont wanna get set on fire..lolol :neener:

glad you like yer glock.
If you want a different addition, mabey look into Kahr and Taurus brands.

I like the 9mm Glocks alot. As for the SIGs, I like their ergos, but there's just something about the SIGs that just dosen't shoot right in my hands.

I love Glocks. I'm planning on picking up a G19 later today. I've had HK's, a Sig P239, a P99 and an XD, along with a G23, 17 and 19.

I actually like the P99 second best behind the Glocks. I liked the Sig the least. I sold them at various times because I needed the money. The only ones I wish to God I still had are the Glocks. I hope to remedy that later today.

I an am HK man myself. Followed by Sigs.

In the end though I still prefer my HK. Glocks are good guns but the ergonomics are not for me. I would trust my life to one but if I could have an HK P2000 I would take it gladly.

....And they are used by many more because they are so cheap.

Glocks are fine by me.. My CC weapons are a G26 and S&W 642.. I never leave home without one... Really like the combination of both point and shoot simplicity and reliability... Load-em up with Speer Gold Dot Short Barrel Ammo - no worries...

My Glock 26 is my constant companion. It is my first Glock and I have really grown to love it. I will be getting more in the future as funds allow.

I'll be soon trading in my Glock. For what you ask. Another Glock of course. They aren't pretty and the grip is awkward and the stock sights suck, also i hate these new triggers(it's like guessing when it's gonna go off), but it's the only gun I've never had a problem with. I'll always have one Glock in my possession.

fatts,

That's a succinct and even-handed appraisal of the Glock.
