OK, I currently own and carry a Glock 22 that I like a lot. I just wanted to add another gun to keep in the nightstand. I have made several post asking the opinons of all on the best 40 out there. Here are the answers I received most; Glock, Sig, and H&K. However, the greatest answer I received was "Colt 45 Double Malt". Anyway after doing my research I decided on the Sig P226. Picked it up today, brought it home, loaded it and my Glock 22 up and went to the range. For me, NO comparison. When I fired the Sig I noticed a much heavier kick and muzzle rise. It also felt bulky in my hand seemed to put more pressure between the thumb and index finger. It is also a longer reach for my index finger to reach the trigger. I am certainly not an expert on guns like some of you guys but for me the Glock was much more comfortable to fire. Should I keep the Sig because it is a Sig, look for something else, or just buy another Glock 22?

Thanks,
Doug

:D I could've told you that, but you wouldn't believe me. Love my G22, and it ain't no rust bucket either. Just keep your gun and shoot the crap out of it. After you're done playing with it, sell it. Some people will pay close to new price for that sig.
It's a win-win situation for you! :D

The SIG is a great pistol. Having said that, it has to fit you and you have to be comfortable with it. It will feel different than your Glock. The Glock sits lower in your hand--thus the recoil comes more straight back instead of raising the muzzle as much. The controls are different as is the trigger style.

If I were you, I'd shoot it more and see if you develop an appreciation for it's good points. Remember, you've got lots of reps on the Glock. It might take some time for you to break into this new pistol. Give it a chance--maybe 1000 rounds. If it's no good then, sell it and get something else.

I am curious if it felt bulky in your hand and that was uncomfortable, why did you buy it? You could have gone with a 229 as it has a smaller grip.

I have the Glock 17 & 34, and Sig 226 in 9mm. Agreed the Sig grip seems bigger. Even though I have small hands I prefer the feel of the Sig. Shooting 1,000 through it will not reduce the value on the used market and might get you to appreciate the Sig ergonomics.

Hello

Keep the Sig and shoot it as a range gun/safe queen. Collect hi cap mags for it. Keep the G22 as your carry/HD gun and collect hicap mags. As funds allow buy more high capacity pistols and rifles and collect mags for them. This recipe works for me.
Think of it as part of an investment portfolio. All guns slowly rise in value, and when the govt. starts to ban a certain class of arms the value rises proportionately.
