Glad you got a job bud. Makes hobbies harder to do, for sure, but on the flip side, gets the money you need for the things you want. Just remember to stay single, that way you get to keep most the money you earn ;).

Well, first thing a woman knows when they meet me is I pay for myself. They pay for them. Second you pay for them they'll start expecting it, lol.

And thanks, long time, not heard from ya!

Any chance you can post a link to the design gallery? Been wanting to look those over again.

Oh my word, don't give me ideas, Savage, I'm already having a hard enough time keeping up with the ONE I'm working on! lol.

No, that is pretty neat looking. Might just make that work, who knows lol.

Hey, keep an eye on my YouTube channel in the next couple of weeks, working with some people that will make your stock look awesome when it's done.

This cracks me up...Are the women in Iowa desperate or something?

PS can't wait to see the results of this project.

Well, I can only speak from my own experiences, but women where I'm currently living like to mooch off the man, use him, what-have-you. Sure is harder and harder to find a good woman here, now-a-days.

And I'm getting excited, too, pal. I just need a couple tools to be able to start finishing from where I'm at.

Here soon, within a month, hopefully, I'll be back up on the project. Funds have all been allocated towards getting the license back, so I'm tied up there, but I should be free to start sometime after June 12th. I haven't forgotten, guys, I promise you that. I look at the stock now and it just bugs me that I can't finish it as of yet, but I will.

I definitely appreciate the patience. Lol. Things haven't really gone so smooth lately, I can only jump on here when I get the time... Not used to having so many unread posts in front of me, lol.

it is an interesting concept to be sure. I am in the process of modernizing one of my mosins right now but I must say that I do not really see a mosin nagant as a tactical weapon. they are far from the most accurate of the WWI-WWII era rifles and the construction is crude at best. I've actually contemplated taking sandpaper to mine to get rid of some of the tool marks. the round has it's limitations as a long distance round so really tactical use is irrelevant.

not to belittle your project, if your final product looks anything like your schematic it should look like a fairly decent rifle. it's just not something that would I could ever see having any real tactical use.

I disagree with much of that assessment, but this is not the thread for that discussion.

What I will say is i do not believe anyone would purchase ANY WW2 rifle to use in a "tactical" environment. If you ARE using one your doing it to be different, not because its "better".
I believe that this project is, at its roots, for fun. I also think that there is a market for these do to the sheer volume of Nagants out there. And face it there are a number of folks who want something different then the off the rack what have you everyone has.

Not only the above, but what I am aiming for in this whole project is complete drop-in assembly. No special tools, or permanent modifications necessary. Now, that doesn't mean I couldn't make them for a bull-barreled Mosin, but to have a new stock, one that looks like a more modern stock, and adding a scope to the rifle without altering the rifle at all, this is what I am aiming for. I still have yet to make my bedding-block/scope mount. So, there's appeal in that idea, I'm sure.
