12 gauge with 1oz. standard Lee slugs? I was very excited to obtain my new Lee slug mold, and a buddy and I cast about 60 slugs last night. Problem is I can find data for slug loads using 700x. I have a lot Winchester AA hulls I was hoping to use, but if needed I can obtain other hulls- I just really want to use 700x besause I've got quite a bit on hand. ANY help would be much appreciated.

Not looking for a crazy accurate hunting shotshell, just something for fun the range.

CAUTION: The following post includes loading data beyond currently published maximums for this cartridge. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. Neither the writer, The High Road, nor the staff of THR assume any liability for any damage or injury resulting from use of this information. 15gr - 700X I have not tried it. There is NO data for 700X to load slugs. The reason is, the powder burn rate is too fast for full velocity. Pressure may go way up very fast and be dangerous. A load to light may stick a slug in the barrel. Good Luck. :uhoh:

PRR,

Suggest you stick with AA#5 and HS-6 for which load data is available for the 1 oz. Lee slug. As 243winxb stated, you don't want to use a fast powder like 700X for slugs.
