Loaded Gun Gets Past TSA

Jscott,

TSA is all about abusing the traveling public. Debasing our senses of freedom. Nothing less.

Question One - How many weapons have been detected by body scanners?

Answer - No answer. If they had detected the bombs they are designed to detect, you can bet we would know about it. Infact just recently TSA ran a test at the Major Eastern Seaboard Airports with Knives, Bombs, Guns, etc. For the most part, it all got through.

Just got in from Christmas vacation out of state. Went through three airports twice each. All of the TSA agents I saw and dealt with were human beings. Human beings make mistakes. I am sure things get through accidentally all the time.

I once took a loaded mag in a carry on to Phoenix. I had no idea it was in there. First screener missed it. Screener on return flight caught it and they allowed me to put in a box and check it through.

That's a big part of the problem with all this security stuff; it's hugely fallible.

You're giving me the impression that you haven't paid much attention to newsworthy events over the past decade or so.

I mostly don't pay attention to US news. Name a "newsworthy" event over the past decade and I'll honestly tell you if I paid attention to it or not. Feel free to PM if you want to keep the thread on topic. I'm getting the impression that those of you that would carry on a plane are all expert marksmen that will put 7 rounds into said bad guy before he hits the ground. A hijacker is there for the plane, and a steel door and a pilot with a gun is all it takes to avoid that issue.

It doesn't appear that you have a good grasp on the notion of natural rights.

Life? I'll protect mine. I generally sat at the back of the plane when I flew (most likely part of the plane to have survivors) and since the hijacker's objective is at the front, I would bet he's more likely to grab someone up there by surprise, rather than drag me from the back. I'm also a big guy, and doubt I'd make a good hostage.
