My long range rifle. I was hitting 12" steel at 300 yards with this rifle for a match. i didn't hit them all with the 1st round but my total time was less than some others. BSW

Early Chinese SKS.

Targets at 300 yards. They are past and to the left of the excavator.

Probably because there is nobody in the excavator and they parked it in the shooting lane...

Anyway...unless you hit a window, that lil 223 (5.56) ain't gonna hurt that excavator.

We do that rifle match in an active gravel quarry. They don't work on the weekends when we shoot there. The quarrymen do tend to leave stuff parked all over the place though, like right next to longest clear area for long range shooting. BSW

This is mine: Savage 110 with a Lothar Walther 1:8 27 inch Barrel. Currently sporting a different scope than the one in the pic.

This is a typical 100 M 5 shot group when I do my part:

This is the result of an attempted Ladder at 100M from a couple of weeks ago. I wasnt expecting this:

you sure that caliber will shoot afy? I heard it won't group better than 6" at 100m! :p

seriously, interesting spiral pattern you've got going on there. any theories?

edit: are those calipers in inches?

My savage 10FP put this group at 200 yards. It cost me ~$550 2.5 years ago. Its seen close to 700 rounds since i first took it home.

6 shot group... very nice! sure you weren't shooting wad cutters? do those ballistic tips cut paper like that every time?

they were all ballistic tipped. Its what i use for squirrel shooting. And there was a cardboard backing behind the paper target. Thats probably where the tearing is coming from.

Taliv.. yes the calipers are in inches.

My theory... shooter compensating. :p

Not much to see

I rarely shoot past 200 yd. but if I had to, this would be the rifle I'd reach for. Remington 700 SPS Varmint .308. It's dead stock unless you count the lightened trigger. Scope is an older Tasco 6-24X in cheap Weaver mounts.

Nov208.jpg

This is one of it's better groups at 100yd. Average is more like 3/4". I'm going to try and improve the bedding soon.

Here's my .264 Win Mag. She started life as a $300 Wal Mart Remington 700 ADL. She's got a 27.5" Lilja Stainless Steel Barrel, blueprinted action, tuned trigger, glass bedded, aluminum bottom metal, all metal is teflon coated, and of course the maple stock. It's from Great American, I used Laurel Mountain Forge Honey Maple stain, which I cut 80% with denatured alcohol, then sealed the wood twice with LMF Sealer, and have quite a few coats of LMF finish on it. Oh and she'll hold .5 MOA to 200 yards, which is as far as I've shot her. I designed her as a long range deer rifle, but this year's elk project, a .358 Norma, wasn't, and still isn't done, so she shot a small 7x7 bull elk at 75 yards, a cow elk at 60 yards and a doe deer in Maine on a pseudo - drive at 100 yards. The 140 grain Partitions really impressed me, full penetration through both shoulders on both elk.

Here is my medium range rifle. Don't have a long range rifle, because I can't think of anywhere to shoot one.

I've only shot at stuff out to 600 so far...

First off, great rifles guys! Heres my entry:) Savage 10FP, Choate folder, Swift 4.5-14X44 Scope, fake Harris bipod. Former owner claims 1.5" at 300yrd, but we'll see about that. Hope to get some better glass for it, if I like it. Love the 2# trigger.

Second one is my RRA Predator Pursuit copy, Bushnell Elite 3200 10X40, Harris bipod. I managed a 1.3" 14 shot group at 100yrds, with no bags, hope to tighten that up a bit! Thanks for the great reading and Pics, guys!

JDGray, how have you liked the Bushnell Elite 3200 10X40 scope? I almost bought one myself, still considering it..

For $160 scope, you can't go wrong. Holds zero, turrets have nice positive clicks, and the retical moves smooth while bore sighting. Glass is pretty clear, and bright, but my only other scopes to compare to (before the Swift), were a couple of Tasco's

Its not much to look at and I'm a really bad photographer...but here is one of mine (the newest edition).

My favorite...Its an SPS Tactical with a Leupold 6-18x40mm Mark II Tactical scope. Its sort of plain...but thats the way I wanted it, K.I.S.S.

It will shoot just as good as any of the more "tacticool" looking ones. Its a little dirty, and its got a few scratches...but its been through a hard hunting season and has put the meat on the table. (4 deer)

You have seen this before:
91/30 - 7.62X54R - Knockoff Harris bi-pod - BSA scope - Rock Solid scope mount - Do it yourself project as a spoof on the expensive sniper rifles.
