Kansas just passed a bill that allows residents to own NFA firearms. So lately I have been looking around to see what pistols are available with threaded barrels so I can put a suppressor on it, and also, trying to figure out what are good quality suppressors. I really do not know much about suppressors so I would like to know if anyone here has a pistol suppresor combo that works well? Also(if you don't mind sharing) how much money did you put into the gun and suppressor? How long did it take to get it, and how difficult was it to acquire. Right now I am lookin at HK compact tactical, but am open to different pistols and calibers(except 22lr) since there is only one suppressor that does not void the warranty on HK's. so any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanx,
HG

Mk23 is a total waste of money. It's very accurate, but $2,000 for a 10-round .45ACP the size of a desert eagle is approximately the least sensible handgun purchase.

HK Tactical-basically a Mk23 but not as beefy (i.e. no +P+)
Ruger Mk II with the threaded Pac-Lite Barrel
or just about anything with a threaded barrel :D

Thanx or the advice. Thernlund, have you used the sig+aac combo? Do you know if they make one that is not bi tone? im not a big fan of the dark earth tones.

I have not used them. However, based on the reading I've done after having bought and used the USPc/Gemtech combo, I'm absolutely positive that my next suppressor will be the AAC. If you look around you'll find that they are very highly recommended.

I want it on the P220 just because the P220 is so great! ;) I suppose any good quality .45 would be fine though. Higher-end 1911, HK, Glock, ect.

They don't make a bi-tone one that I am aware of (assuming you mean the suppressor itself). They probably don't. You could always send it out for hard chroming though I suppose.

Beretta just put out the Px4 storm in the .45 with a threaded barrel. Nice gun for a nice price.

Conqueror,

Its actually 12rnd and not 10. You gotta upgrade the crappy 10rnd magazines. My Mark 23 came with 12rnd mags. And what you are saying is like saying a Ferrari is a waste of time, cause speed limit is 65mph. Mark 23 is the Mark 23 cause it has been studied and tested like no other hand gun ever. It is also the softest shooting, ie, least recoil, of any .45 i have ever shot.

My best friend has the HK USP 45 tactical, and although a great gun, is not comparable to a 45. Also, with close to a 6" barrel, that .45 flies out of a the barrel with velocity like no other .45 hand gun:)

I have a full size HK Tactical .45 and really like it. I would stick with the full size over the compact.

OK, call it 12 rds. Congrats, your giant pistol has the same ammo capacity as a compact XD-45. And did you stop to think that maybe it's a soft shooter because it's gigantic and heavy?

I would buy one for $500. I would most definitely not buy one for $2300.

Chris in VA, I had a walther p22 which I have seen with suppressors, however, i gave it to my brother for his B-day. I would like somethin a little more reliable than .22lr(i wasnt very impressed with the p22), I am willing to put the money into a nice pistol/suppressor combo.
