looking for a 380 pistol

Love my PPK and my Beretta 84. Sadly, the 84 doesn't get shot as much due to the cost of .380 and the fact that I haven't had much time to reload lately. The PPK is in the carry rotation, so I practice with it at least once a month.

all the more reason to make a switch to 9x18 ultra.. cheap once fired 223 brass and .355" bullets.. costs no more to load up than 9mm using all the same components, just a diminished powder charge

Have you actually done this

Justin,

That sounds easy, but when I have read articles about making ammo like this, it is a lot of work. Also, have you actually tried using .223 cases to make 9x18 ammo. I will bet you will find that capacity is smaller.

I like the 9x18mm round, but without a good carry load, it does not have much of a future.

Just my thoughts.

Jim

case can always be reamed out to get the necessary case capacity at a loss of some wall thickness and then resized in a die

Does CZ still make the .380 ACP CZ-83 ?

I can't find it listed on their site, but I see some for sale from Tooele Shooting Supply.

Strange, but Bud's has a CZ83 listed as new for sale. I wonder if they have resumed production...,,,

Grab A Gun and a number of other online retailers are also selling the CZ 83 and the guns don't say "used".

I bought a Bersa Thunder 380 several years ago. Mine has had over 1000 rounds through it and had literally been 100% reliable. It's very easy to shoot very accurately and is easy to carry. (Though I do now carry a Ruger LC9) If you want a budget 380 it's hard to go wrong with the Bersa. (Especially since you're also looking for a metal blow back version)
