I have 3 beam scales (I got a good deal on a couple). An older Lyman/Ohaus, an RCBS 5-10, and a Lee Safety Scale. All are accurate, repeatable, and easy to use. Any of the modern manufactured sales will work for you if you take care of it. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a used scale if I could look at it first, but not from ebay. As for the Lee scale; much maligned, mostly misunderstood. The Lee scale is made of phenolic which won't bend, and if not broken is still accurate. The Lee scale uses a vernier poise system ( like a slide rule or vernier calipers) and a lot of folks can't (or won't) get used to or learn how to read it. A major plus is the poise is lockable, and won't move when the pan is replaced (which happened to me with my Lymam/Ohaus; bumped small poise and changed the load by .3 grain and dumped several loads before I noticed it. Had to redo about 40 charges.). I have used weights and checked all three scales and they read as close to the same as I could see. Most any newly made beam scale, entry level versions too, will weigh everything that needs weighing for reloading. So it boils down to what you like as far as color and cost...
