My cousin wants this rifle and he's having some trouble finding it. I know Sako and Tikka make left-handed rifles and he's a Sako/Tikka fan anyway so that would be fine. He also likes Ruger and Remington. Do Howa make left-handed rifles?

Stock can be regular or thumb-hole, and the rifle will be used with a bipod; do Harris or anybody else make a stainless bipod that would match the finish? On a related note, do Leupold have scopes in a stainless finish? Would prefer that kind of 'grey' wood laminated stock you see from time to time on Rugers and the like.

Lot of questions I know, but I owe my cousin a few for shooting property access and would like to help him out with this.

Rem 700 VLS

I've got a Remington 700 VLS (varmint, laminated stock) that I'd recomend in a minute. Nice heavy rifle for the bench or stationary varminting. Bull barrel, 1:12 twist for lighter varmint bullets in the 40-55 gr range. Being Big Green, a left hander is probably available.

the vls is an outstanding gun, but, they are blue - unless you do the necessary legwork to track down a vls-ss... those are special run productions (not even sure if they are ever done in lh), and typically don't stay on the racks very long, and they are few and far between.

but, if your cousin can suffer w/ blue, the vls is a good one.

Perhaps something like this?

with its 1/9 twist, the Savage offers the advantage of being able to handle heavy and light bullets.
