I currently carry a P32 everywhere I go. Sometimes I carry a P32 and a NAA Mini. I think it is time to move to something bigger with near-full-size capacity.

I have the PF9 and absolutely hate the thing. Granted it is not a range gun but I bleed when I shoot it and I am not kidding. I've shot the LC9, it is no better than the PF9 except it is more pretty.

I own and have carried the P11, and I like it. I shoot well with it, it has been reliable, and I love the heavy revolver-like trigger. I also like the 12+1 capacity. However, the thing is - it is UGLY. It is on par with the looks of a Hi-Point. I know it's a CC piece, but I want something that is a bit smoother and a little better looking.

Are there any pistols out there with the capacity of a P11 and similar dimensions but are better looking? Weight is less of an issue.

I've tossed around the idea of these. . .

- Ruger SR9c <-- love the way it looks

- Glock 26 <-- Still ugly but extremely dependable

- Sig P250 9mm Sub-compact <-- looks ok and this would only require me to get the X-Change Kit for about $250 as I already have a couple of 250's.

I can slap 17 round mags in every one of the above as a backup, including the P11.

Thoughts?

Any of those would be good, if you can get good trigger reach. You also might want to look at the Walther P99 AS compact.

Glock 26 would be my first choice out of that short list. I dislike Glocks for aesthetic reasons, but the 26 has so many holster options and it has a good reputation for reliability.

What is you life worth?

Over and out.

Well, "What is you life worth?" is a fun catch phrase, but given the OP's question, I don't see what that has to do with the price of tea in China.

To address the actual question:
As mentioned above, the SCCY is a clone of the KT P11 and is somewhat "prettier" but I've heard enough negative reviews of them that even having never touched one, I'd lean toward sticking with a more established company. Of course, that's a call for you to make for yourself.

I think the P11 is fairly unique in its size/capacity ratio. But that also assume that cramming the most ammo into the least pistol is something that is necessary and/or desirable.

If you are looking at the Ruger SR9c and the Glock 26, also take a look at the M&P9c. I owned one in the past and regret letting it go. It sounds like the ability to take the larger capacity magazines from the "big brother" guns is desirable to you. Those can take the standard 17 round mags from the full sized M&P.

Also look at some of the Third Gen. S&W pistols like the 6906. Those can take standard 5906 mags.

Good luck in your search!

stick a G19 in a quality holster with a quality belt and you should be gtg.

What is you life worth?

Over and out.

From the book of old, tired, beat-down cliches... Never did figure out the algorythm behind it.

My response to one of many prior toss-outs of it, in a Taurus thread from 2009:

Ask yourself "what's your life worth".. you'll hear this comment over and over again from the webwarriors, yet they're not buying new $40K+ cars every year to have the latest in safety when out and about. This is despite the fact that any one of us who operates a motor vehicle is much more likely to encounter a threat to our safety in doing so than one coming in the form of an aggressor (unless they're engaging in a risky lifestyle.)
For HD/SD, a (insert budget-priced gun here) that you know to function and do so well in your hands will do fine. Those same people who believe they should be armed at all times are, in fact, telling you to wait to be armed, aren't they? Remember the first rule of gunfighting, right? Have a gun!
More justifiable defensive shootings not involving LE or military personnel involve these so-called "lesser" arms than the Kahrs, Kimbers, Sigs, etc, because that's what people who live in the parts of the country more likely to contain these threats have. Most of the cases I've read up on that identified the defender's weapon type include Rossi .38s, Lorcin/Davis-type .25 and .380 pistols, no-name single-barrel or double-barrel shotguns, and various .22 and .32 caliber revolvers. These are the "beer-budget" arms people living "beer-budget" lives have when firearms isn't a pastime for them...

Oh, and I agree with decoy562 on the looks of the SCCY CPX-2.

Ok, humbly admonished. No algorithm, just putting function over aesthetics. And having a bad day.

I didn't buy my SR9c for looks but it delivers in capacity, easy of carry, and had been utterly reliable.

I'll go take a nap now.

You are searching for the Holy Grail of slim, compact, lightweight, shootable, large capacity, affordable, reliable, good looking carry guns. When you find it, let me know! I've been scouring the farthest reaches of the known world looking for such a firearm. Until someone comes up with a 15 round .45 that shoots like a .22 and is the size of an LCP, it's all compromises.

For me, the P11 would be a good EDC but there are 4 significant issues with it.

#1 is the lack of a hammer block safety <-- no fix
#2 is the plastic mag catch <-- this one can be fixed with an aftermarket steel catch
#3 is the cheap (and I DO NOT mean inexpensive) feeling & ugliness of the gun <--can't fix ugly
#4 are the lack of decent sights, including aftermarket

I don't know why KT can't do like Ruger and make a more polished piece and just charge $50 or $100 more for it.

Right now I am leaning toward getting a P250 Sub Compact kit, mostly due to capacity (12+1), DAO, and looks.

I own a P-11 & understand what you don't like about it. I still wind up carrying it during warm weather just because of its size & capacity. I have been wanting to get something else for that niche myself. The cool part is if you have something that is workable you can take your time until you make up your mind about exactly what you want to replace it with.
While I don't have experience with the guns you listed I am pretty sure any of them would work. It just depends on what would be best for you. I am finding myself interested in the R51 Remington is supposed to be coming out with. It seems like a good idea but I need to wait & see how it shakes out in real life. I'm not getting into a rush though.

Ugly is as ugly does. If you ever use it to save your life it will be the prettiest firearm ever made.

Besides, a CC weapon doesn't see daylight much, so who cares what it looks like? A Glock 26 is presently riding behind my left hip with a sleeved G17 mag on the right side. Definitely not the prettiest gun in my safe, but one that I am confidant in,competent with, and comfortable to carry.

Kinda interesting that what bothers you most about the P-11 is its appearance. as for your list.
#1 doesn't really bother me.
#2 I replaced the plastic one with a metal one I bought from a guy at KTOG after I broke mine.
#3 I don't care so much about as long as it works.
#4 I am fine with the sights.
My biggest annoyances with my P-11 are
#1 I had to replace the mag catch-see your #2
#2 The slide stop broke twice (the firearm still functioned the slide just didn't lock back)
#3 I don't really like the trigger.
I also had some issues with the trigger return spring but I believe these were my fault. I had heated up the plastic trigger & bent it to make it more comfortable. I heated it back up & bent it back close to it's original shape & those issues have went away so that one was my fault.
My other issue is I don't really care for the blued finish on mine.
