I broke the primer seating stem on a Lee press. I knew I had another as I had two presses that took the same thing. Think, think, where could it be. Oh, in the box labelled "Lee" which had a bunch of stuff a buddy gave me from his neighbor who passed.
No stem. But.....five thousand small pistol primers. Gold!
I think I'll go to a local trader paper and see if I can swap a couple thousand for 209 shotshell primers. Hope springs.
I did wind up ordering a couple new stems from Lee,
And, they were in stock.
The fat, blind hog found some acorns.

That is a great find!

Best I've done so far, is finding 500 pieces 45 Colt Brass I forgot I had ordered and received.

Why I put them where they were at is beyond me.
I found them while I was rearranging some stuff.
I needed more room to stash the 500 pieces I just received from Starline. LOL

I put an ad on one local site offering even trade for 209s. Shoot, one clown is trying to sell small pistol primers for $120/1000.

I know where all my primers are. Still have a couple years left at the rate I shoot. I was out in the reloading shop tonight. Glanced to my left and saw a 30cal plastic ammo can labeled 357mag. Opened the can and found it filled to top with Starline 357 brass. I knew I had the brass but didn't realize it was in that can. Closed the lid and put it back. I'm still cycling through over a thousand rounds of brass I've been loading for over 20 years. I shoot 'em till they split. Have to toss 4 or 5 into the scrap bucket each time I load.

in a facebook (don’t have an account) posting. a Sportsman Wearhouse kept the 209 primers in the back for the BP guys. No harm in asking.

Funny that you posted that - I was there just the other day and the counter guy (knew him before he retired from sheriff's dept.) told me the same thing (after he handed me a box of Federal 209's).
